DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
- Not transparent about the cost
- Overpriced
- Slow
- Invoice for services in following years that they weren't hired

I sought professional help for assistance in preparing of taxes for 2021 and amending prior years. They completed the simple tax return but not the amendments for the small price $750. I could have easily done this myself.
When they reached out to me to do the amendments after tax deadline, I declined since their fee for services would exceed the money I was hoping to get back from the amendments.

The following year, I returned to filing my own taxes. Months after I received my tax return, I got an email invoice from Wastvedt charging me $175. According to the staff, the charge was for filing a tax extension for 2022. They justified this charge by stating I hadn't terminated their services, even though there was no contractual or verbal agreement for ongoing services. I had not even communicated with this company in over a year.

They would not dismiss the charge and threatened to send me to collections if I did not pay for their unsolicited services that I didn't even need. THIS COMPANY IS CRIMINAL.

Regrettably, my family and I had a less than satisfactory experience with Wastvedt and Company. Right from the onset, the communication was lackluster and often ambiguous. Despite my multiple attempts to seek clarity, it seemed as though we were speaking different languages, leading to numerous misunderstandings and unnecessary delays, as well as sending me a random bill for services I never signed up for.

Adding to the strain was the financial aspect. I was caught off-guard by a barrage of hidden fees. I was under the impression, based on our initial conversations, that the pricing was transparent and all-inclusive. To my surprise, these undisclosed costs started popping up, putting a strain on my trust in the company.

The culmination of my discomfort, however, was the conduct of the founder, Michael. While I respect every business owner's vision and passion for their enterprise, certain boundaries of professionalism and respect must never be crossed. In my dealings, I found the founder's behavior not just unprofessional, but downright inappropriate. Poor emails, inappropriate conversations over phone, always playing the "poor us" card.

It's with a heavy heart that I write this review, as I always hope to have positive interactions with businesses, but I believe in informed decisions, and I hope my experience serves as a cautionary tale for potential clients. I would strongly advise considering other alternatives before committing to Wastvedt and Company.

For the past nine years, I have had Wastvedt & Company prepare my taxes and work with me for tax planning. My experience with their services has always been positive and professional. The tax planning services have been a tremendous help avoiding unexpected taxes and this allows me to do some financial planning for me personally and my business. I highly recommend their services to anyone.

I would avoid working with this company. I worked with them to file taxes for myself and my small business for 2 years with no issue, however this past year I was suddenly hit with close to an $800 surprise bill for services I didn't agree to or want. I found their lack of transparency about cost and ethical billing services shocking, as well as trying to charge me $375 an hour for a phone call where I was essentially trying to find out if they could still handle my taxes for 2022. When I disputed the charges invoice my complaints were dismissed and was told they would be sending my invoice to collections.

Great service, did a great job with my returns and offered very good advice on how to limit tax liability. Unfortunately, despite little to no change in our status, income, or investments, in three years our bill doubled. When asked why, the answer I received from the business manager was: "Unfortunately the time spent on the return has remained relatively constant throughout the years. But this is also why we have applied discounts (the first year more than the other two)."

Michael Wastvedt and his team made handling our taxes simple and just took care of it. They also discovered a lot of ways to lower our taxes that we didn’t even know. Thank you!

No one likes to be surprised when it comes to paying their taxes. Wastvedt & Co. go above and beyond by taking a proactive look at your tax liability and helping you prepare for it. With Mike and his team on my side, I have one less thing to worry about and I have more time to concentrate on my business and family.

Great accounting firm. Very responsive to my questions. All staff members I have worked with (Phillip, Ruth, Tammy, Mike) have been knowledgable, professional, and supportive. As a result, I am able to turn my complete attention to operating my law practice.
