Had a 529 with USAA that was sold to Victory Capital. Victory Capital has absolutely no customer service. I was charged a $25 fee for an automatic investment that went to a closed bank account (I changed banks and did update my new bank account with Victory but apparently not soon enough). I had been a loyal customer for years and called and the lady was nice and said she would work to get the fee reversed. She promised to call me in a day or so with an update - she never called back and fee was never reversed. I'm done. I just filled out the paperwork to roll the 529 to Fidelity where I have a lot of other accounts and where they actually care about their customers.

USAA moved my 529 accounts to Victory Capital. They've proven to be incompetent with awful customer support. I cannot set them up as external accounts on USAA because they never send a security code via email despite stating that they have. I cannot set up recurring transfers on their website because that functionality is broken, it shows I have no bank account set up despite the fact I do. When I contact their support they send a response stating they are receiving a large volume of messages.  They never actually provide support. They even misspell Marine Corps as Corp on their website. Now I cannot even figure out how to close my account and transfer my funds like so many others have already.

Such terrible customer service, it shouldn't be legal. In trying maybe 15 times over over 2-3 months, I've gotten through to them ONCE. Yesterday I called, waited an hour, and their system hung up on me before I even spoke to someone. Their phone triage system is an unprofessional mess. They disabled the ability to call the phone extension of specific advisors. They disabled the chat option on their website. Their website works only maybe 80% of the time, and even when it does, it doesn't have all the information you need as a customer, so then you have to call (back at square one). They don't respond to emails. The one guy I was able to speak with was nice enough, but said if we got disconnected he wasn't allowed to call me back without his manager's explicit review and approval. He then gave me what turned out to be partially inaccurate information about my account. Would not recommend this company at all to anyone, ever.

I have been helping my father navigate Victory Capital website. In doing this exercise, I pulled up current statements in the month of December 2020, but the only statements available are showing June. I was not able to pull up any current (i. e. October, November) statements showing account activity. My father has tried calling Victory Capital customer service and was put on hold for up to and exceeding an hour and no one ever answered the phone. He was on hold! He has never been successful in reaching an actual person. I have advised my father to pull his money out and go to a different firm. What kind of financial business is Victory Capital? They have no current statements available on their website, and no one answers the phones when you call, so no customer service. I would not put my money in a business that treats their customers like Victory Capital does!

USAA recently sold some of their investment arm to this company. I've spend all day trying to open an account, and their website keeps crashing. I've tried turning off cookie blockers and two different browsers. It waits until I spend 30+ mins filling out forms with all kind of sensitive identity and account information, and then the website just crashes. And of course there's nothing in the FAQ and their help hotline is closed. If this company can't even build a functioning website, how do they expect people to trust them with their investments?

The absolute worst!!!! Do yourself a favor and never invest with them. They make it impossible to move money and they constantly place holds on your account barring trading. Not too mention that their customer service is beyond bad. Worst decision I’ve ever made is to open an account with them.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am trying to close my account because I found a way better service. I have been on hold for more than an hour and every time I get to talk to someone they say they can’t help me and send me to a different rep. Ridiculous. Do not take your money to them. Avoid them at all costs.

Their automated system loops you around and hangs up on you. You get to play whack-a-mole with their phone options to determine how the hell you can get to talk to an actual human. Then, you get to wait on hold for who knows how long; I waited for about an hour before I hung up.
