I have been with Allstate my entire life. In fact, my parents met while working at Allstate together. We were with Allstate ever since then. Until recently when prices were extreme compared to competition, did we decide to make the transfer (thousands over the course of a year for the same coverage—not something easy to ignore). So, I sent in my cancellation. After 4 emails to Alex and Chanc requesting confirmation of cancellation, I received the response of “ Corporate does not issue confirmations of cancellation. You can very easily log into your Allstate.com account to see that there are not active policies.” Well, Alex, I wasn’t asking for corporate, as I directly emailed Chanc and you which was never a problem to get a response when enrolling in your business. I just was asking for confirmation of my email, and kind of thought after 30+ years of family business, a reply or acknowledgment would occur, though I didn’t expect it.

Buyer beware. There are cheaper options, better service and kinder staff.

(P.S., I hardly leave reviews, so it must be significant for me to feel inclined to do so, appears other people have that inclination, as well)

Response to companies response: Taking over a week to respond to emails, with the then snarky response above, doesn’t constitute “handled in a timely manner”, as stated below—which they responded quicker to my review than my email. My request was a response to confirm cancellation, not an astronomical ask that takes time to process in which agent and representative still didn’t acknowledge. A simple “yes, your cancellation request has been processed with an effective date of ___” Even adding in a “we are sorry to lose your business and wish you well going forward” sure would’ve been customer-centered 🙂 customers don’t typically care about the number of stared reviews, they care about how you make them feel. The reviews are only to hook them, nothing more typically.

Exercise caution when dealing with this Allstate agency. They begin with a welcoming and agreeable demeanor, but once you're enrolled, their service plummets dramatically—frankly, it felt like a scam. Without exaggeration, this ranks as the most exasperating business experience I’ve ever faced. I’ve noticed other reviews echoing similar complaints, which, sadly, isn’t surprising given my ordeal. I strongly urge you to consider other insurance providers—any alternative. I’m currently working with the attorney general’s office to address the significant hardships my family endured due to this agency’s reprehensible practices, hoping to prevent others from suffering the same fate.
