My sisters and I had a really wonderful weekend at the Westin National Harbor. It's a beautiful hotel with open, airy bar and restaurants spaces looking out onto the river and ferris wheel. It was so beautiful out of our windows at night with the colorful lights on the wheel. We got gorgeous photos with the sunset as our background. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and service-oriented. We were made to feel comfortable and all of our needs were taken care of. Succotash restaurant just across the street was a wonderful place for our large family to go and enjoy, and Starbucks is right next door.

This hotel isn't as bad as some reviews here describe, but also not as good as others do. It seems like it used to be a good quality 4 star hotel that is just not trying to keep up and is sliding down the quality ladder. Positives: some of the staff were pleasant and customer friendly; many others were simply indifferent. Good rainfall shower with strong flow (far from a given at us hotels these days). Rooms still look ok, and some have very nice harbor view. Cons: rooms share a/c ducts and these are puzzlingly designed so that noise travels through them, so you can pretty much hear very well everything your neighbors are doing, especially if they're loud (and the area attracts loud on weekends); terrible wifi - slow and keeps needing new log on every couple of hours; basic fitness room (one weight machine!) which could easily be improved but isn't...Bonvoy status neither acknowledged at check in nor was any upgrade offered despite the hotel not being full. Overall, I'm sure that 10-20 years ago this place was on par with much better locations; it's no longer that and is slipping in quality - assume the owners just don't want to invest...

I feel like the only reason this hotel is priced this way is because of location. Right next to water, great restaurants and a reasonable walking distance from the parking garage if you do self parking. Would definitely do valet parking next time. Garage parking is 24 hours but only if you keep your car in there the entire time. Every time you leave the garage, you have to pay so the $55 for valet is worth it. Walking in, lobby is nice and workers are kind. The room itself was very disappointing. I might as well stay at a residence in. Bathrooms weren't the cleanest, furniture was beat up, sheets had stains and HOLES. Our "city view" was the roof as shown in picture. Definitely NOT luxury whatsoever. At around 11pm, fire alarm went off and everyone had to leave the building in freezing weather for it only to be a false alarm. At 9:30am, housekeeping walked in our room without knocking. Wouldn't recommend spending the money and staying here. Maybe try the AC hotel before this one. Pictures just show the room. Very average looking, not the cleanest and terrible view

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Westin in the National Harbor. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were especially impressed by Alexis from the front desk. She went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. We were not sure if it was going to be an enjoyable stay after dealing with the overcrowded and short-staffed Gaylord down the street. Fortunately, Alexis at the Westin welcomed us with professionalism and courtesy during my family's late-night checkin and answered all of our questions. She was instrumental in making sure that our experience was pleasant and comfortable. She deserves a raise! The next time we are in the area we will be staying at the Westin again.

When we checked in, we had paid for two rooms but didn’t need two. We told the front desk that and said we only want to cancel the second room if it would be refunded. She said she thought they could do that and if there was a problem she would let us know. She only checked us into one room. We never heard anything. At checkout I asked if in fact it had been refunded as she never checked us into the second room. The front desk said yes and printed out a receipt and said to contact hotel if we didn’t see a refund in a few days. Upon contacting the hotel, the customer service manager was rude and told me I was lying. I said I told the front desk when we checked in if I wasn’t getting a refund I wanted to use the room. She said it wouldn’t be an issue. He said that was not the case and that her notes said it was canceled. I never canceled it. I think this was poor communication in their part, and like I said we would have used the second room we paid for but I was told it would be refunded. We were at the hotel. It’s not like we didn’t show up. I wouldn’t have wasted a $350 stay! But apparently I did. I tried contacting the general manager and left messages. They didn’t return my calls or emails.

The bed was wonderful, the AC was rather quiet and well adjustable, the mini fridge roomy, the shower large and with ad-hoc warm water, the lamps had power outlets, and the room was quiet and roomy. I didn't like that I had to cross the street to park, that there was no good way to unload the car without blocking the street and that the bar area was uninviting and therefore always empty. Yep, I am a bit picky, but I like lively or cozy reception areas and this was a walk through without charm or Wow.

We did not want to leave! Everyone was so friendly and this hotel is perfectly located in the middle of restaurants, shows, and THE Capitol Wheel👏🏻 we saw a terrific show at Bobby McKee’s and can’t wait to go back to the Westin… with beautiful water views🤩

The hotel was just ok. I’m still baffled by the fact that I could never get another bottle of water from the front desk. They gave us 1 bottle of water in our room the first day upon check in and said that they absolutely could not give us anymore.. for the price of the hotel this seems so ridiculous.
