We are a small restaurant and we had using Sue Yang Leo as our CPA over decades. Recently, we had some new changes to our shareholders (the legal documents regarding the shares transfer was done by Sue Yen Leo's partner Law Office of Leo Pelletier, APC, they are using the same office). When the new CEO's spouse who is the manager of the restaurant tried to make an contact with Sue Yang Leo office to ask for an price break down of the total service charges fees in 2022. A manager named Anson whose legal name is Wai Ming Wong, CPA denied the request and said he needs to get the other smaller shareholders who used to be the manager in the past. That automatically triggered a red alert to us why Mr. Anson is hiding the fees and charges to the existing CEO. Was there anything done under the table without the new CEO's permission? So we did a audit to our banking account and we find there were two big bonus checks were cashed right after the new CEO took over the business, two check over $14,000.00!!!! That's only after the tax deduction, so before taxes they steal at least $20,000 without the CEO/biggest shareholders consent even the previous shareholders consent. We contacted Sue Yang Leo's office regarding this issues, they said they will reverse the checks for us. Two days after the first contact, a guy name Craig who is the owner of the CPA firm called us said they were not able to reverse the check and the only way is to take smaller withhold from the beneficiaries from each pay check?! My question was what if they quit before the taxes can be completely withheld? Why Sue Yang Leo's staff not questioning the two big check right after the change of the new ownership and at least tried to contact the new owner or even the previous CEO/owner? Since we didn't solve the issue, we went to Sue Yang Leo's office to talk to Mr. Craig in person. This young owner didn't really care what our questions about the two big check that were suspiciously issued right after the change of new ownership, he only cares if we bring the check to pay him for the remaining balance of 2022. (We already find a new CPA and in transition of moving to the new CPA) We said to Mr. Craig his staff were serious dereliction of duty and he started speaking loudly and saying we are not their clients anymore, took our check and ask us to leave or he will call the cops..... luckily we had a full voice recording of all this otherwise no one will believe us we were forced to leave our CPA office which we have been paying them over decades.... I hope whoever read my stories will walk way from this CPA office, first their fees are really high, we shopped around and we find they were almost double charged us compared to other CPAs in the area; second, their service quality was really bad, they don't keep their promise for follow ups and call backs; third, the owner Mr. Craig seems only care about how much you will pay them before they provide any service to customers. Finally, we will file an complaint against this CPA firm with California Department of Consumer Affairs and we will also fight for our rights and losses which cause by Sue Yang Leo, CPA office in the court. We will see you in the court, we hope you will be prepared for this. Mr. Craig are you ready to see us in the court?
