Worst tax prep experience ever. Found unreported income and googled for a local tax service to do an amended return. Retired military so picked Deana thinking she would be the best choice. I was wrong. She was certainly not the cheapest but I was led to believe she would stand by her work and ensure what she prepared would be accepted and processed by the IRS. Ultimately, all of us contracting for tax prep service are paying for a complete process from creation of the return to the IRS validating the return by accepting it for processing. If they feel the product is not valid for any reason and reject it, the tax preparer is not done and must correct or modify or explain their work to make it acceptable for IRS processing. Or so I thought.

About 4-5 months after the amended return was received by the IRS, I got a letter from them stating they did not understand where a number came from and could not process the return. They could not do anything with it which meant they could only use the original return and would assess additional interest and penalties, etc. I called them twice to make sure I understood what they needed. I forwarded the correspondence to Deana thinking she could straighten it out with a phone call. Nope. She refused to call but created a letter response after a few weeks and then sends me an invoice for $375. If I don't pay her again, she won't send the letter. Feels like extorsion. She claims no responsibility for the IRS rejecting her work and blames them. Now they will be coming after me since I refused to pay twice for one accepted return.

I highly encourage everyone to go elsewhere for tax service. Find someone who will actually stand behind their work and stay with it until the IRS says it's able to understand and process the return. Find someone with a better work ethic who actually takes care of their military clients. Plenty of good ones out there.

Deana is the real deal y’all! We had a busy year and were feeling overwhelmed with W-2s from a PCS, active duty, national guard, and civilian jobs - but Deana just saw it as a fun challenge. She spent lots of time with us finding all the odds and ends to get us the best refund. And she is super friendly! Highly recommend especially for military families

The best tax experience I’ve ever had. Deana is EXTREMELY helpful and broke everything down so we understood everything and was so thorough on getting our refunds. Quick, painless, and friendly. We've used the Army's free tax preparation for many years, but that has now gone the way of the dodo. The fact that we can finally move into the 21st century and do this whole process virtually is worth every single penny of the very reasonable cost.
