All I was asking for was that they verify my rental history and after a week of waiting, the head of Simcal told me They were under no obligation to provide verification of any rental history. For all of you renters out there, you know how important it is when you move to provide a rental history in order to be approved. These people are arrogant and completely dismissive if ever you're in need of moving.

Writing this review as it seems I have very little recourse as a disgruntled renter. I made arrangements to book one of their mammoth vacation rental properties back in mid December. Upon returning the signed contract I also inquired to whom I should issue the deposit payment. After not hearing back I reached out to them on the due date of the deposit. This was during the holidays and I received a response that nobody was in the office and they would address when they were back in. I then received another response a day later saying "i didn't realize your deposit date was past due and that details regarding fees were in the contract" (the amount was listed but who I should issue payment was not made clear). Since they mentioned the deposit being past due, I decided I would pay by credit card and swallow the additional fees. So I called the owner Jim's cell phone. He told me that he was on the slopes but if I texted him my email addy he would send me an invoice so I could pay via CC. I texted him my addy and heard nothing so sent him a polite reminder later that night. Again, received no response. This was leading into the new year holiday so I figured they were in no rush to receive payment. I also went out of town on holiday with my family. Upon returning I decided to send them a check. A week later I followed up to make sure they received it. This is when I received an email from Jim saying that the house had been sold and that they would be sending back my deposit check. His excuse was that they get many inquiries that end up "going quiet" on them. I replied saying that I obviously had done everything I could to ensure the rental was secure and not sure what other actions I could have taken. So now, I have a group of 12 people whom have all taken the time off and made arrangements to get to Mammoth for the weekend. We've lost valuable time in booking other options and will end up spending significantly more money to find a comparable booking. The whole experience has left me very sour and while it gives me little solace, this review seems to be my only outlet for venting frustration. Don't make the same mistake I did.
