As a single mother, I rely on my insurance company to be fair and honest. Unfortunately, Shelter Insurance failed me. I made a payment on January 29, 2026, before midnight, yet they incorrectly recorded it as January 30, 2026, leading to the cancellation of my policy. I followed their instructions, but their system wouldn’t allow me to pay in full, and now they refuse to correct their mistake.

When I reached out for help, they showed no compassion or willingness to assist, leaving me without coverage and still waiting for my refund of $119. Their poor customer service, inaccurate billing, and lack of accountability make them completely unreliable. If you’re looking for an insurance company that actually values its customers—especially those in difficult situations—I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Laryssa and her staff have always been very helpful, polite and timely. I switched to her office from a different insurance company and the only regret I have is not doing so a lot sooner.
