Questionable ethics, I was dealing with a large sum of money. They insisted it had to be sent to a savings account instead of directly to a loan for payoff. It took persistence to get the actual account information, after providing the loan account number she said "wires probably can't be sent to it" No they most definitely can.
Of course Why would they want to tell you that when they can collect interest on your money and the loan.

Worst experience ever. I’ve had bad luck the last 3 months my car got stole and I had to order a new card. Then recently in late November I lost my wallet. I froze my card and ordered and new via the phone. It’s been over a month and I have yet received my card. I went in today and Karen helped me. I wanted to know the ETA on the card or what was the delay. My car was stolen in October that card too around 2 and a half weeks to come in. Karen informed me that my card was not order yet. It was frozen but no order was placed. She said the delay was that they needed to verify my address. If I had a card ordered in October to my address already what is there to verify? I have not received one call or email about them needing to verify my order. It’s absolutely unacceptable I asked if she could print out a card so I can use one in the meantime since rent is due and at this point I’ve been waiting over a month. She told me they can’t at this location. I then asked if there’s another location in San Diego that can she said yes. Went to the back then said she actually doesn’t think there is but she could expedite it for $50. Since I can’t live much longer doing apply pay I paid the $50. Im deeply disappointed and disgusted as I have been waiting patiently for so long the customer service was bad I felt like she didn’t care at all.

Incredibly rude and inconsiderate staff members. I had an appointment to establish a new business account and discuss financial products. I am currently dealing an auto immune condition that has left me with bruising around my body, scarring, hair loss and open wounds on my scalp. I wore a sweater, jeans and a small hat to protect myself and help hide the areas I am extremely self conscious about. As soon as I came in I was treated rudely and the security Guard and manager told me I need to remove my hat or leave. I explained to them my illness; I SHOWED them some of my bruising on my neck and scarring and bandages on my upper forehead where I use a hat to cover that and they had absolutely no understanding or consideration for that. They treated me as if I was going to rob the bank and are incredibly disrespectful to people going through medical issues which I proved. Ended up cancelling the appointment and will not be coming back.

I was an account holder of this bank for years and also had a car loan with them. For personal I ended up closing my account and switched to a different bank. About a month ago i stopped at the branch in Mission Valley to try to open a checking account. Not only did I had to a while when there was no other customer waiting. The lady who was in charge of opening accounts was busy doing something. I had to ask if there was someone else. When she finally had time, I could tell that she was not happy she had to wait on me. Regardless, I tried to put a smile to my face and went on with the process. My credit score is over 700. I had a history with the bank and yet, she had to find something in my credit report that she did not like. With that excuse she asked me to bring my "original SS" card which obviosly meant a trip to my house. I had my driver's license and my passport and that was not enough for her. I had irritated because I felt the problem is that she did not want to help and her attitude towards me. I left and told her I would not come back and I did not. I went to California Coast Credit Union and opening a checking account there was a breeze. The person who helped, Rod was the kindest employee at their downtown office. SDCCU, you lost a good client and I would not recommend to go there based on my expeirience.

This is a review of the company as a whole, not the specific location. Over a year ago I had charges incorrectly sent to my SDCCU checking account that were not authorized. SDCCU allowed my account to be over drafted 3 times resulting in fees of over $100. I was unaware of the charges since I had moved and had forgotten to update my physical address on the account and rarely used it, but had submitted a mail forwarding with the post office for all of my mail in the event that I forgot to update any of my accounts. I never received any mail from SDCCU about this issue prior to me contacting them. The way I found there was unpaid balance was through my credit report. I immediately tried to log into my account to see what had happened, but they had closed my account that I had for ~25years without ever emailing or calling me to see if I was aware of what had happened. I called customer service and they sent me a form to dispute. I filled out the form and returned but never heard back. I called to follow up and even visited in person when I was on vacation in San Diego, only to hear it was being reviewed by a committee. instead of working with me to resolve they'd rather just put a blemish on my credit and not get paid. I can't believe this is how they treat their member who has been with them for years without any previous issues and who is actively trying to resolve. This is not a company to do business with if you value your credit rating.

I have a business account - my account dipped below the 2500 min and I deposited a large check the next day. I was charged $8 for this. In the past this has been reversed no issue as my balance was WELL over the minimum one day after the fee was assessed.

I went to this branch and the teller supervisor blonde hair sitting at desk behind the teller stands was extremely rude about my request to reverse this, as had been done easily in the past. The issue isn’t really the $8 it is how I was treated by this teller supervisor. Frankly, I have never had this bad of customer service in my life at a bank. She seemed visibly annoyed by my request to even talk about this issue. On top she didn’t even move out of her chair, she just talked about my personal banking business from her chair at her desk?!?! This is extremely rude and I have never been this upset leaving a bank in my life. 100% unprofessional and unacceptable. If I ran my business like this I would be belly up in 2 months. Can’t express my dissatisfaction with this experience at this branch strongly enough!

This one is for Fabian (Teller). Honestly, because of my job I encounter several tellers, but the smug responses I received from him was not worth it. For some odd reason, to cash a check if you don't have an account with them you will need to supply a fingerprint(DNA SAMPLE). When I questioned why do you need my fingerprint (DNA) to cash a check I was told that 1. That's not DNA (false) and 2. they need it for the police ---weird. I asked if they kept it on file or in a database he replied no, then my question was well why wouldn't I just go down to the station to give them my fingerprints? No answer, but I was referred to his manager. I didn't have time for the run around I would love to know, what law or policy allows for this collection and are people actually letting this go through. By the looks of the ratings. I can't see much business being conducted. 4/8/2022 Fingerprint in return for cashed check
