I had the best experience with this SDCCU branch getting a lease buyout for my vehicle. I worked with a phenomenal banker, Glory, who made the process smooth and easy. Glory was very friendly, patient, and thorough when dealing with all the paperwork and answering all my questions. Overall very happy with how I was treated at this location and how easy it was to get everything done.

So.many.issues. 1) a couple of years ago, I noticed there was money missing from our Money Market account, like $300-400-ish dollars. When I called, the rep gave me some lame excuse, put in back in the account and said "it's been there the whole time, yes, it's been there the whole time." Umm, no, bc I am looking at the accounts while on the phone with him and confirm it has NOT been in the account "the whole time." Weird. 2) We signed up for Free Checking when we opened our accounts there but they switched the account to a non-free checking later (without our consent) so they can charge $4.95 per month for Bill Pay (if you don't use it they charge you). 3) In addition to the $4.95/month they were charging us, they were charging us $20-$30 per month in Transfer Fees when our account "went below" a certain amount. The Transfer fees happen "automatically" (according to them) and they pull the money from any other account you have. After scrutinizing our account, the fees were occurring when there was sufficient funds to cover the amounts charged. I spoke to a branch manager on numerous occasions and was given excuse after excuse after excuse as to why this was "legitimate." 4). We had fraudulent charges to our card and they were not helpful in the least. DO NOT RECOMMEND SDCCU. If you are a member, watch your accounts closely.

A client's check returned NSF resulted in a negative balance, without any warning, SDCCU suspended my bank account, disabled online banking access, ATM card. They called and I immediately made deposit with teller at the Carmel Mtn branch and asked her to unlocked my online access. The teller said I have to call the Online Security line. She went to ask her manager twice, plenty of chance to tell about the suspension, but nothing said. The manager just sit in her office hiding from confronting a upset customer. I called Online Security and the CRS said I have to go to the bank in-person and that I need to have activity on the account. What do you call an in-person deposit made? Went in the branch again and they run my credit, re-establish the account. Went home and still unable to access online or ATM. Went back to branch the third time, got my online access and ATM card to work. Made checks deposit, but they won't release the fund for 5 biz days even though it clear my client's bank. Small bank, under train staff, ping-pong customer around, and unprofessional manager. I have my accounts, my mom's and one friend close their accounts. They don't value their customers.

Sorry Carmel branch but its got to be said. It's the lack of innovated development for me. The app is just terrible. No Google Pay or Apple Pay support for 10+ years. Voted #1 my 🍑
