Former employee from about 9 ish years ago. I see nothing has improved. Loving the review replies where you constantly mention you lead the field and have over 30 years experience. 😂🤣😂🤣 Keep up the Shadyguard tradition! Happy to see my review garnered such a lengthy response. Maybe spend all of that time replying by improving your employee morale instead. Just a thought!

Fraud, incompetence are core Safeguard values!

FRAUD - Arranged a date and time for property inspection. Inspector was a no call/no show. I documented this in an email to Safeguard (took forever to find a valid email address online). Next day get a direct message from the inspector. We set up a different date and time. The inspector cancelled an hour prior. No worries, life happens. Instead of Safeguard reaching out to reschedule again....they submit a phony report to my insurance agent claiming that I was unreachable, that my <2 year old roof was in "very poor" condition and other ridiculous inaccuracies ("detached" garage that is clearly attached to the house). INCOMPETENCE - In a previous inspection of a separate property the inspector claims that 1). the roof is in poor condition and should be replaced (bogus), 2) backyard fencing was missing - the NEIGHBORS have a fence that partially enclosing my yard (this is obvious to anyone who walks the property) & 3) there was a "gas heater" in the garage (completely bogus). After wasting hours corresponding and correcting Safeguard's nonsense, the insurance underwriter dropped Safeguard's claims. Reading the experiences of former Safeguard employees here it seems like Safeguard just churns and burns a revolving door of people while insurers benefit from limiting their exposure to claims about "faulty roofs" and other bogus findings.

Went through our home, without our permission or knowledge, and winterized it changed the locks, boarded up our shed and stole our lawn mower and bbq. Took them almost 2 weeks to get the keys back, and a month later I still don't have my bbq or lawnmower not the money to replace these items. I went through their "claims dept" dealing with a very rude rep named Jason, who in one of the emails stated, "we can take as long as we need to resolve the claim". Total scam, lack of accountability, and unwilling to be helpful.

They sent someone out for an inspection and his old truck left a large oil stain on my driveway. Now they want me to do the leg work to find someone to clean it up. I asked why they couldn't send someone out to clean it up and have been ignored. Updated the review to neutral since a manager contacted me and is supposed to fix the issue. Will update again if things change.

Really sad to see all the bad reviews here, I guess I’ll add in my experience. I had been working with Safeguard through a different company for around 6 years until I broke off with the other company to work directly with Safeguard. At first they had me cover areas outside of my local zone, which I was able to do for them. They then added on 3 more zones since I was doing so well. The problem there is I was getting complaints about being rude to homeowners and State Farm agents, safeguard did not say this was something I needed to work on but rather told me I was a top 5 inspector and to keep up the good work. So now I had even more work and people to deal with. After a few more complaints came in they completely removed me from the network. Leaving me without income. The complaints are all based on personal feelings of the homeowner or agent and nothing to do with actions or specific words. So because people had their feelings hurt I lost my job.

Being in my position I thought all was well since I was gaining more and more area as time went on, being told I’m a top 5 inspector, really makes you think you’re doing well. Scammed I was.

Ok so that has past, about 2-3 months later I tried to see if I could come back and try again since what I did wasn’t anything that drastic or bad. They let me back on and said if even 1 complaint came in I would be removed from the network again. I made it about 2 months and a random complaint came in, the complaint wasn’t true but that doesn’t matter, and they let me go again.

The contacts they provide you do not wish to help but are only there to communicate when you will be doing the work they provide you. They email at 6:00 am in the morning expecting immediate responses. Which I could handle but they never liked my responses, again I do not understand why I was given more areas to cover and complete orders in when they clearly did not like how I communicated with them.

Really disappointing how Safeguard operates and treats their vendors. They only care about the money that they will be making from what you do for them.

I will be continuing my journey without them and encourage others to do the same.

Wow. No wonder there are bad reviews. I just called and waited for 15 minutes for an "agent" named Lynn to pick up the phone. The wait was not the problem. I understand phone lines can be backed up so I just put on speaker and continue getting some work done while waiting.

Holy mackerel Lynn sounded like she would rather be dead when she answered the phone. I didn't say anything to her about her miserable greeting but through the coarse of our 2 minute conversation it was obvious she wanted me to finish the discussion asap.

So with her consistent disuasion I decided not to try to get any further clarification regarding their inspection report of my property.

I truly hope she finds some happiness in her life before she leaves us. Nobody should have to live that miserable.

I am a third generation roofing contractor from South Florida and maintain my personal roof fanatically. I have inspected many many roofs damaged by hurricanes over my decades of experience. After their roof "inspection" from the ground with a phone taking pics on a selfie stick State Farm cancelled my insurance.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with my roof as hurricane Helene prooved less than a month after the inspection. Not one single shingle was blown off or damaged and not one drop of rain entered my house. There are no roof repairs to do whatsoever.

I was shocked to see my policy cancelled because of this incompetent inspector's roof pics and report. There is not single person at Safeguard Properties that knows as much about roofs as I do.

Avoid this company no matter what someone might tell you.

Be Very Careful with companies like this. They Are Predators. If you ever received a notice on your door saying "IMPORTANT," please be aware. If you call them, DO NOT give them your property address, then please come right back here and right a review. We need to warn people about scam companies like this. They want to snatch your property from under you.
