My spouse and I just finished filing for what was a very complicated tax year for us and Chun's US and Canadian teams were both incredible.

Chun took the time to meet with us personally and introduce us to the process with great detail and everyone we worked with was responsive, professional, kind and attentive. They not only coordinated, optimized and handled the 4 unique filings between us, they also identified and addressed several things that needed to be corrected for in previous filings (with a different firm).

I can't speak to what some other reviewers experienced but I can personally say that I am immensely happy that we used Chun for what was (hopefully) the most complex tax year we've ever had. We will continue to use their services for upcoming filings.

I don’t normally post here. But the other 1 star reviews resonated with my experience so strongly that I thought I’d leave a note here just to provide some caution for others.

Just be aware and ask questions before moving forward to make sure this team is right for you. Chun’s temper really got the best of us. I’ve been afraid to post because we are concerned about what Chun will do to retaliate. So just leaving it here, buyer beware.

He's also being sued for outsourcing the work to third parties and not paying them for their work.

As a small business owner I take my finances seriously. I was not sure about using Safe Harbor CPA’s so I contacted them and asked them to look over my books and give me some insight into what needed to be done, and then I would decide if I wanted to use their services. They asked me for a $3000.00 retainer and assured me that they would simply look over the books before actually proceeding with billable work. I sent it in good faith.
After they got their money I pretty much never heard from them again! I emailed Chun Wong for an update after a week and received NO response. I then began daily emails until finally he responded with a brief amount of information and a bill for $3700.00 stating they had used the retainer and we owed him money! Chun Wong stole my money and did absolutely nothing. I demanded a refund and he has been non-responsive. Do not give your money to Chun Wong or Safe Harbor, they have no integrity.

Declaring global tax is a complex and tedious subject that can only be completed by a qualified CPA that specializes in international tax. Chun ticks the boxes in all aspects of his work, professionalism, knowledge, and customer service.
Avoid cheap, no idea tax agents who will only end up getting you in trouble with the IRS for not knowing rules and regulations in this specialized area of tax.

Excellent accounting firm working in San Francisco. I'm not a high-powered business type, just a regular small business entrepreneur. But my taxes are complicated as I have exposure to International tax issues, overseas and all that. The staff at Safe Harbor CPAs were fantastic and led me thru the process of figuring out my bookkeeping, my tax liabilities, both over and underpayments, and then how to get on the ball each year so I'm not freaked out at tax time. I try to withhold enough so that I 'get money back' and in that way am never surprised. I am no longer afraid of the tax man!

A CPA That Listens. It's hard to find one - you know, an accountant who will actually take your phone call, meet with you in person, and then - ultimately - help you with your business or personal needs. We have a small San Francisco business that's been around for over twenty years but we're transitioning to new ownership. Plus we have some international tax exposure and the requirements are very onerous for compliance - if you have property as we do in Canada, then you have to file what is called an expat tax return. Needless to say you have to get a tax return done and they do it. We're very happy.
