If you want lackluster service with a little bit of incompetence on top then this is the right individual and firm for you. I have worked with Eric for the past 3 years and asked him to do various projects and he has failed to not only incorrectly endorse my name on the business I asked him to create on my behalf, he also over calculated my local income tax for my investment property by near 200 dollars. And these are just the simple mistakes that I was able to catch with no real in depth knowledge of taxes! Who know how many mistakes he’s made over three years and how much I’ve over paid or how much I might owe the irs I’m the future due to his negligence! He claims that he does the taxes himself and never disclosed until the day I fired him that he has other people in his firm do it but he reviews it. I would also like to add that he charges a base rate of 535$ to incompetently do my taxes, which I have to now have another cpa proof read his work and spend additional money! To top it all of when he was called out on his mistake he simply said “I never said I was perfect, atleast you caught it I wouldn’t be mad about saving more money, plus you looked at the taxes with me I’m our final review and could have pointed these items out” (again like I’m the tax expert) I find it astonishing how even can even afford to keep his business running, I work for one of the largest banks in the area my primary job is to open/service/trade accounts and stocks/bonds/etc for high net worth clientele, and I wouldn’t have a job if I responded to a mistake the way Mr. Eric Roth does! I then asked Mr. Roth for a partial refund do to his negligence in our last transaction and that’s when he started to take an aggressive rude tone! I promise you two items 1) if you want mistakes and gross negligence to affect your taxes then you with go to Eric Roth and 2) For the rest of my days any client that ever ask for a referral on a cpa I will make it my civic duty to warm them of Eric Roth’s deceptive practices.
