Don't recommend these apartments in any areas they run. Managers are very bad, will not get qualified help, walls are thin so you can here all noise from neighbors and appliances are old, Managers do not get work orders done. On 04/09/2024, stove /oven caught on fire and fire department state not to use this stove due to a short and all the Managers did was have the electric elements changed out . Amm filing complaint with housing and will complaining on how much rent is too high for the quality of apartments. It's a rip off. Wouldn't recommend them for any Senior citizens.

This is long but if your considering moving in well worth it, My experience with helping my grandmother who lives in The Cottages of Oak Springs.

While these gated apartments might be financially affordable it’s NOT WORTH the hassle of dealing with the property manager.

What initiated our appalling experience was on a Friday evening my grandmother experienced a maintenance emergency and as a result she was unable to use the toilet. She attempted to call the maintenance emergency number but the number was not working, would not even ring. By Saturday she was still unable to use the only toilet in her apartment and her apartment office was still closed for the weekend. That night with the emergency Maintenance still down and no way to contact the office we had to get the toilet fixed ourselves so that my 78 year old grandmother didn’t have to go a third day without a working toilet.

This situation left me frustrated so I left voicemails explaining everything and requesting to be called back that Monday. Monday came no one called me or my grandmother to even acknowledge her maintenance emergency. So I went straight to the office after work at 1:30PM the office was already closed for the day. This added to my frustration that the office would open and fail to recognize an emergency and then close early making them unreachable for another day.

On my next day off I went to the apartments at 9:30AM to ensure I would be able to speak with someone. I called the office when I got to my grandmothers and no one picked up the phone, I promptly walked to the office. When I walked in the property manager quickly over spoke her elderly little assistant who was turning to assist me, and told me they would be with me in a moment. She then finished what sounded like her personal conversation before turning back to me again. Not sure if the personal conversation was the reason for them not answering the phone or it was a relation to the maintenance emergency Number not working, I started the conversation off by telling them I had just called and no one answered maybe, their phone doesn’t work. From that point on I was met with rude Confrontational exchange as The property manager realized I was the one leaving voicemails over the weekend.

My goal was to get a time and date so that maintenance can enter my grandmother‘s apartment to work on the toilet. Never releasing her hostile tone the property manager said plainly no, they don’t do that, aren’t going to do that.
When I flat out asked if they could just give notice of when they are going to enter her apartment the property manager said she didn’t have to and if she heard something in the apartment she would just walk in herself.

That comment lead me to ask for who manages the complex, the property manager laughed as she answered and then smirked as she told me, I would be happy to give you their information in which she illegibly wrote on the back of a card.

I was forewarned by others about how rude the property manager was and how she will exploit her position to nit pick and intimidate tenants until they move out, and in my experience she was definitely lacking professionalism, with her rude attempts to over power the conversation by interrupting me and talking over me repeatedly, I now understand how the elderly tenants of this senior community reciprocates that energy from a taller bigger sized women as intimidating.

So I will keep this review updated with any updates that resembles retaliation/intimidation to us sharing our experiences.

I live in the Cottages of Oak Springs a lovely quaint community for us seniors. Its run by a loud ignorant property manager that lies to Quest Asset Management to have her way with the tennents. She calls us her 6th,7th and 8th graders. When we have problems. No respect for our gray hair. Her gray hair either. My carpet was dirty when I moved in and full of mites. The property is over run by squirrels( they carry mites) who scamper through the ceilings all hours of the day and her immediate supervisor who works for Quest seldom returns a call. They keep her employed inspite of 27 negative reviews from the tennents who cared enough to complain. Recently she must have found a few disciples to say something nice about her. Did I say she is loud and crass? People in the nursing homes have more activities. Quest won't meet with us tennents to find out the truth about how their property is being managed. Our appliances are old. My refrigerator has missing parts and the shelf is held with ductape and my dishwasher is broke. She lied to Quest telling them that I refused to pay a pet deposit. She refused to take it. Motioning to Push my hand away she then said "I am gettin rid of that cat and you!" That supervisor over her at Quest allowed her to cancel my lease inspite of me trying to pay. It's freezing outside I'm in 4th stage renal failure recovering from hip replacement surgery. Where is your Christmas Spirit? She won't direct medical transportation to our units. This includes ambulances and fire trucks. Is this how you operate Quest? She shouts at us and slams the phones in our faces. Or she may just hang up in our faces. There is no land scaping. Just empty flower beds. I have never had extermination for roaches. My neighbors have. She allowed her guest to hit my walls outside and my door at 11:30 12 midnight. Laughing as they did so and running off. I saw them because of my porch light. Why should we move? One of her guests little daughter about 5 to 7 years old kept telling her mother to make "that old black thing move make her get back." After repeating that many times I got up to see what the child was talking about, she was pointing at me.(I am African-American The manager was sitting on side of the pool the whole while. She said nothing.) Shes the problem. Quest should get rid of her.

Terrible management! They website states: “enjoy our vegetable garden” - made it go away, “enjoy our theater room” - never show movies, “scheduled activities like crafts, bingo, games, and parties” - there are none and as far as “included clubhouse” not only are people not encouraged to use it, they are made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable when they try! They staff are also instructed to not assist residents with any tasks. Absolutely despicable!

As far as the residences themselves, all the appliances are old and falling apart and it often takes days or weeks if ever to get any repairs.

So clearly whatever place being described on your website has almost nothing in common with the actual establishment.

My relationship with staff has been horrendous, but not on personal level. The three in the front office are in the wrong line of work! They do not get along with people.Unpleasant,unhelpful., uninterested. Two important issues are neglected until they become a hazard, the pool, not maintained unless the city intervenes, and the elevators, they postpone critical functional issues, many of us have limited mobility, and are at risk!
I have spoken with staff by e-mail and in person!I wish they would just do the basics! It WAS beautiful when we moved here!Sincerely,Catherine Marr...We live in Waterford at Goldmark,
