I’ve been doing business with this company for many years. I had a small sabbatical due to circumstances of life. I called Mr. Morgan back in March to get an extension on my taxes. However, I did not speak with Phillip. I spoke to his associate that remembered me from prior business and prior referrals sent to them. I also referred my wife who is an attorney. She got an extension also.

Come to find out today, June 20. I called and spoke with Philip himself. I had some questions about how to file my taxes on a 5013C nonprofit organization. He gave me some advice. I told him I filed an extension with his company back in March. As soon as I told him that. He told me that I owe him $650 from six years ago..He did not file for me!

I told Philip, I did not want to use any excuses because I was certainly unaware of the debt. But since the loss of two children. I have moved multiple times even out of state. I was completely unaware of any funds that were owed. Most of the time when you do direct deposit when filing. They immediately take the fees off the top and you get the remainder but now that I recall, I think Phillip had a different business model.

I can certainly understand, wanting his money. As he earned it and is well-deserved, no matter what my situation is or was. But my wife should’ve not been brought into this. My wife is an attorney and it could have cost many issues with her code of ethics. So he did not file extensions for us both.

The directions that my wife received were very common. Once again, the secretary told my wife to send her social and date of birth. And the extension would be filed. Phillip sent an email three days later to her work email. Attorneys sometimes get 200 emails in one day. She had no idea that Phillip sent her an email. Three days after she spoke with his office. Keep in mind this is not the email that is preferred. This accounting firm had her phone number. If they were not going to file an extension for her. With the magnitude of the situation definitely deserved a phone call to my wife. Not one ditch effort that he was unwilling to give her an extension . After being told the opposite..

I would have never found this out if I did not call today. This had the potential of really harming us. . Now we are going to have to pay extra fees and take extra loops that are inexcusable. You do not tell a client. “ I am unwilling to help. I have more business than I can shake a stick at.

And if one of your employers says yes we can help. Then honor her word. Have some sympathy with the situation. That is why you employed her. Or do not give her the power to make those calls. I know this employee. I’m sure she knew about my balance. She is a nice lady. That got ousted!

After speaking with her today. She apologized for the lack of communication and the misunderstanding.. She said she was sorry. So I gave recognition to her.

To close this out. I thought highly of this firm so much that I sent dozens of referrals that continue to do business with him as of now. This is not a vengeance message. Or I’ll show you with a bad review.. After reading several of his reviews and seeing the same thing happen to other people. I felt the need to let others know about the situation. Before they do any business with Philip Morgan. If he will do this to us. All over the money. When I told him I would handle my debt either way.. He will do it to you.

If the IRS ever has a question, you will not receive any help. And during Covid everyone’s rates went up.
