The Perks Pusateri firm has been our family’s “go to “ accountants and doing our tax returns since the late 1990s. My wife and I started with Chuck when his office was in the house on S. State St, just north of Shock Rd.. When our children were grown they went there also.
They have ALWAYS done an excellent job for us. They have answered any questions we had and dealt with any tax related issues for us.
I suppose that we could have found someone with offices closer to us or who would have done taxes more cheaply. But I am certain that we couldn’t have found someone that would have elicited the level of trust that we have in Perks Pusateri. Believe me, if there is someone that I want to have complete trust in, it is my tax accountant.

If zero stars was a possibility, it would have been chosen, which is a shame considering Chuck Pusateri was an accurate, knowledgeable, and professional CPA who prepared both my business and personal returns from 2004 until his retirement. HE deserved 5 stars. Mr. Perks and his people have taken the company so far downhill with their lack of knowledge, multiple mistakes, and unprofessional associates who fail to take responsibility for their actions, it is an absolute shame Mr. Pusateri’s name remains in the firm’s name.

Although impossible to state all the errors in this format, examples include filing extensions without notice to the business owner (unethical for sure, illegal I do not know), filing preliminary returns instead of final returns, botching returns so badly the IRS reviewed those returns and voluntarily sent a refund to the business owner, to the tune of nearly $9k!

They even have such lax email security that an associate sent a virus to clients, masked as legitimate tax information; removal of the virus ultimately costing me thousands of dollars in IT work to remove it, and confirm there was no compromise of MY client’s data. Perks never even informed their clients, not even as basically as an email informing us of the fraudulent email situation, nor any formal apology.

Clearly they no longer receive my business and I strongly advise others to seek another firm for business and personal tax preparation needs.
