I had an extremely disappointing experience with NorthCoast Asset Management. In early 2023, I was referred to NorthCoast due to their supposed expertise in handling concentrated stock positions and their reputation as a “quant shop” that actively manages portfolios. I transferred my concentrated stock position under their management, along with additional funds to get exposure to their proprietary portfolio performance.

Regarding the non-concentrated stock position, I was very disappointed with the performance. I was shocked to see the historical performance and wondered why anyone would continue to invest when the funds routinely fell short of market performance.

For the concentrated stock position, not only did the execution of the strategy fall short of producing the returns promised during the sales process, but it also culminated in a significant loss. The most troubling issue was a FAILURE TO EXECUTE a crucial trade as agreed, resulting in additional losses.

This experience was both financially damaging and extremely frustrating. I strongly advise caution when considering NorthCoast for your investment needs.

You're better off buying literally any index fund for a fraction of the fees. Their mix of stocks is no different and will never beat the index in the long run, in fact you'll be at a loss due to their high fees. Even the best funds don't charge as much as they do, and for what?
I was with them for more than a year. There is zero personalization - I already had a lot of exposure to my employers stock due to my stock options and told then not to invest in it and yet their team kept buying the stock. Shows you how much they take your personal goals into account.
It will also take you a week of back and forth on emails just to be able to set up a meeting with your personal advisor.
And there is no easy exit - Once you stop their services they'll simply drop the ball and you'll be left to clean up the mess.

Especially during these tumultuous market/world times of 2020 I couldn't be happier to have my investments actively managed by the team at NorthCoast. Rather than just 'riding it out' I have their expertise to actually grow my investments.

Over the past few years, my wife and I have slowly migrated all our investments to them and now have our entire portfolio expertly managed under the NorthCoast umbrella. Our interactions with Patrick Jamin and Will Ostruzka have been amazing and have created an environment of confidence, trust and security. My wife and I feel they (and the rest of the team) have the pedigree, education, and talent to outperform other options for managing our investments.
