This new M&S has a very trendy feel. Set across the lower two floors of the old Debenhams, it has a very different vibe to the old one.

Enter and face two tiny escalators; men and food upstairs, women and homewares down - the general atmosphere is one of bustle; not at all like the serene quiet of its predecessor.

The men’s section is large, with a good choice. There are self service tills for clothes - a revelation!

You can see where they removed the escalators to the upper floors. A sad reminder of the end of Debenhams.

The food hall feels cramped and the sandwiches are far from the door - the old food hall was also cramped though, so perhaps this is simply the way. The food remains very good, but there is more emphasis these days on fancy foods and less on the simple.

Overall it’s ok - a decent shop but feel less inclined to browse than previously. They want you in and out here swiftly I think.

Convenient for Liverpool One, the food terrace and the Crown Court.

A truly stacked M&S. The food haul can get extremely busy, but with that being said, it’s well stocked.

I popped into the new M&S whilst out browsing at liverpool 1, I was curious to see how the new store would look. I don't tend to shop at this retailer, but I did explore the new store. I found it to he modern, bright, well laid out, and easily accessible. The food hall in particular was good, lots of interesting food items. I didn't use the café or the ? toilets. I think the new shop is a vast improvement on the old store on church street.

Food sanitary issue in the Cafe!
As I was grabbing for a sausage roll for my toddler at the cafe, I saw flies landing on the pastries and thus pointed out to the staff. This lady serving at the cafe took a very arrogant attitude and I was even shocked when she said the flies were around all day around landing on the bakeries and she said that was absolutely normal?! While I don’t think that is normal …I am concerned with the food safety there for my baby and walked away without buying. Can anybody let me know if food is absolutely normal with flies landing around all day?! Is this M&S standard?

We are regular clients of this M&S, the guards are familiar with us by now. Unfortunately yesterday, I had a casual shopping and wanted to try some items on female clothing line. Went in to the changing rooms, lady was so hostile.

She asked me how many items I said 5, when she gave me the number 5 she hold stronger and I had to pull it awkwardly. Anyway whatever. When I came out she tried to be polite and formal. But I saw her face was so different when serving me and the customer after me, her face lit up on the latter. Idk whats wrong I came in dressed very politely, I dont even have a bag/purse so no way Im trying to steal. If she’s smart she would’ve seen that.
my husband also came and sit on the waiting space like a normal person.

I’ve had bra fitting here before and lady was soo lovely. Just this one time, I’ve been faced with either a hater or just a same ol same ol racist. But I’d rather take my business elsewhere. Why shop in a place that doesnt want you there?

This store is nowhere near as good as the old one. They should have taken the whole of Debenham promises instead of squashing everything into 2 floors. As for the cafe it's a joke I have not yet been able to get a seat there since it opened as it's so tiny.
