Mountain Insurance is a great insurance broker. I started out with the father (Kevin) years ago and I am now working with the son (Alex). They are very knowledgeable and adept at getting you the best policies to fit your needs. I’ve recommended them to my mother and my sister and both have policies with them. As insurance premiums go up, they always seem to find me a reasonable premium with good coverage and deductible.

Nick Krupka has saved us a ton of money by finding us the best deals. When my daughter turned 16 our insurance company wanted to charge a fortune. Nick found us a policy to cover all our vehicles and got it cheaper than we were paying before adding a 16-year-old driver. He is always very fast to respond to any questions you may have. I highly recommend using them.

Insurance is a game of moving targets. The company that provides business insurance one day decides that the next day they're no longer covering your type of business. Or they decide to double your rates overnight.

We've been through both situations numerous times. Having an independent agent that's not tied to a particular insurance provider is extremely valuable.

Alex has been able to find us affordable reasonable companies a few times over now. It's a pretty essential strategy for keeping cost down and staying insured.

We have homeowners, auto, and two businesses insured through these guys.

Had a disappointing experience - they were unresponsive and slow to communicate. My situation is more difficult to place with insurance, but the process took three months, and I felt totally on my own trying to work with underwriters and my doctors. I was nervous the whole time that they were going to come back and just reject me. I didn't have an advocate or guide with Mountain Insurance. After months of back and forth, they did offer me a policy (+2 stars), which I declined because of how stressful the experience was.

I've had other life insurance policies, so I know the process does not need to look like that.

We reached out to Mike Cates at Mountain Insurance when our home owners insurance doubled!. We had 4 weeks to find a new company and better rate. Mike assured us that he could help. He then went dark and unresponsive for a few weeks. We reached out several times and just got excuses for the lack of any progress. 1 day before the cancelation date and at our urgent request he said that he could not help. After delaying until we had no choice, he bailed on us leaving us in a HUGE pinch. Do not trust this guy! Maybe you can get better service from someone else at Mountain Insurance but Cates is flakey.
