I have been doing business with Scott Jensen and his firm for over 10 years. He started out doing our small business S corp taxes, and then did our personal taxes. Over time I have had many conversations with Scott and I quickly recognized his tax expertise. I come from a finance education and background, and often feel I know more than the person I have hired to give me advice, but I have never felt that way with Scott and his firm. We have engaged Kramer & Jensen to be our partners in several other business ventures, and have relied on them to set up our systems and process's including financial reporting, taxes, and over all business advice. Lastly, he is jsut a good honest person.

We have taken a while to let the dust settle and for cooler heads to prevail prior to considering this review. Several months in fact, so this is being written with clarity and thought.

Scott and his team are very experienced professionals, and have the accounting and legal background to back it up. But after having done our personal and business taxes for 2 years, we left with a very bitter taste in our mouth. To be frank, we do not believe they cater to do the sole proprietor and individual very well. It would seem, from our experience with other accounting firms past and present, that they are a big shop and bigger businesses is where they fit. And they bill like a big business as well. Aside from being on the high end in terms of cost (from our experience), the invoices lacked the detail that would make us feel somewhat better about it.

We had been researching other representation as we felt it would eventually be time to move on. We sought something a little more personalized, more affordable and a little more boutique perhaps. With a filing deadline fast approaching, we couldn't make that switch. We had mentioned to Scott that this was what we were considering, and just prior to that filing deadline, he unceremoniously released us as clients, leaving us scrambling.

I'm sure they have a good internal reason to take the action they did, but from a customer standpoint, we couldn't have been more disappointed in their method and practices. To that end, take this review for what it is. They are probably very good at what they do, but from this side of the story, we were very disappointed overall.

I engaged with Scott for the first time after a trusted friend referred me to him. My experience was horrible. There were huge, glaring errors in my returns; omissions for items that Scott and I had three touch points about. It took three draft versions and and huge investment of my own time to finally get correct returns ready for submission. I estimate a spent an additional 6 to 8 hours reviewing and correcting items for my return that I had trusted him with.

After the fact, I had a conversation with Scott about what happened and what could have been done differently, and his response was underwelming. He did apologize and say that they "do make mistakes sometimes, but they try to get it right." But there was a lack of ownership and he went on about things clients often do to make the process harder for him and his staff - NONE of which was applicable in my case.

I advise to take your business elsewhere.

I have filed company has a complaint against this company with the BBB. I ask Jensen to help with my taxes. He did not provide notes on what they did. No records of who Mr Jensen spoke to, and then stated that I stilled owed taxes. I went to the Colorado Department of revenue and straightened it out myself. Mr Jensen sent me a bill, I asked that he adjust the bill down. His response was no.
I was told by Chuck at the Colorado Department of Revenue that I actually overpaid was told that they owed me a refund. The service a CDR was very understanding and processed the refund and cleared the collection records. I would not try to get help from this company. Their service gets an F= Poor.

Since the founding partner Scott left the timely manner of returns and quality of reports has greatly diminished, look elsewhere for your accounting needs!
