I stayed in a property managed by allegedly Keyes Property Management, but was simultaneously being managed by LISTR. This was by far the worst rental experience I’ve ever endured.

Upon arrival and throughout my stay, I was horrified to find not only dirty floors but cockroaches – both dead and alive – in every room and even the countertops. But that was only the beginning. The real shock came after three days of showering, only to find out I’d been standing in backed-up sewage in the bathtub! Absolutely repulsive.

False advertising topped off this nightmare: the listing claimed there was a washer and dryer in the kitchen, yet there wasn’t one in the entire apartment. Lights weren’t working when I arrived, and I was locked out for the 30 minutes due to a malfunctioning door code.

There were cigarette stains on the kitchen table and other pieces of furniture in the bedroom.

Then, the rules – an *arms-length list* of them – made the place feel even more oppressive. Most of these were visible only after I committed, and they were beyond excessive.

The property management setup was a complete fiasco. LISTR, the primary customer-facing company, outsourced their support to the Philippines, where representatives could only provide scripted, unhelpful responses and empty promises. Meanwhile, Keyes Property Management, supposedly handling things from Pompano Beach, was initially silent and unresponsive. After several days of my persistence, Keyes finally got involved but insisted on primarily communicating through LISTR, delaying resolutions.

Ultimately, I was forced to cut my stay short and move to another property. Despite serious and egregious issues from day one, they initially refused to refund my entire stay, however, ultimately after great aggravation and arguing agreed to do so.

I would use exercise extreme caution and ensure that Keyes is not involved with and is in no way associated with LISTR and the property you are renting.

I will acknowledge that Keyes was happy to help address issues once they got involved, however, they would have been addressed much sooner had they not been involved with LISTR. Unfortunately, cockroaches, bait and switch, and sewage cross a line that you can't walk back from.
