We have been a customer of Jones, Lakin & Company since the fall of 2016. They have been very responsive and knowledgeable and have assisted us in all aspects of accounting needs. Not only did they assist us in setting up our corporation and getting the various Federal and State permits and licenses, but they also helped us with setting up our accounting package, merchant accounts and payroll system, as well as doing the year end tax preparation for both corporate as well as personal taxes.

While we mainly work with Kim, their entire staff has level of expertise and professionalism that makes us feel that we are in good hands no matter who I talk to when I pick up the phone and have either a major problem or a quick question.

We were recommended this company by a fellow small business owner in the area. Although they weren't the cheapest, after meeting with them and liking what they had to say we decided hire this company and used a variety of their services (accounting, payroll, tax service, accounting software, etc). We spent about 6 months sending documents in, waiting, and getting everything set up to go live the first of the new year. 15 days prior to the new year we get a email that stating they are deciding not to service us. The reasons stated were that of a background check (full disclosure i was charged with a felony 4 years ago and received a PBJ, never found guilty), and that they met with their company and decided they had "too much work load with their current clients". Now, every company has a right to do what they want. But why waste their time and yours playing games. As a business owner I wouldn't tell a customer for 6 months ill be there to do a job, agree to a price, then two weeks before the job call and say sorry, not coming and give some BS excuses. Again, its their right to run their business how they see fit, I just want to make sure others know what kind of people these are and to make sure you do your homework before trusting these guys.
