This is not for John Nix’s team but GEICO as a company. I have had State Farm for the last couple years and got stuck with GEICO for a month when I bought a used car on the weekend. I thought my rate was high and called State Farm again. I saved $564 switching back to State Farm and got better coverage. The person who signed me up said I might want to stick with GEICO cause it helps to have an insurance company that’s available at all times instead of just during the week (i.e. State Farm). I had a hell of a time trying to reach an actual person when I needed help. It’s all robot menus when you call and it try’s to deter you from reaching an actual person MULTIPLE times. I ended up canceling through the app and got no confirmation via email, which it stated it would send in the app. Overcharging, Underdelivering, and Subpar Customer Service are the traits I would use to describe this insurance company.

I call to cancel coverage on my motor home and add a new one. Much to my surprise they continued charging me for the one I asked to be removed for over a year. Perhaps the agent made more money adding a policy without canceling one? Also after leaving the country for a few years I called to get a quote and it was almost double. So I called Progressive and saved hundreds.

The hold times are insane just to get a quote! As I am sitting here actually on hold for 28 minutes as I'm writing this wondering if I even want a quote or yo do business with them at all if you have to wait this long to speak to someone. These insurance companies want to raise premiums but not utilize that to hire more employees to cut down on hold time ....still holding by the way. Lunch break wasted on this call and still was not able to get a quote.

I have had Geico Car and Home Insurance for several years.
Their service over the years has been terrific, when we moved, when my husband passed away, when we changed cars…
But you can really tell what a company is like when things go bad and you need them, unfortunately I recently had that opportunity when my son was at fault in an accident driving my car.
My car was totaled (the damage exceeded 80% of its value), since it was 9 years old.
The claim was handled quickly, I had a rental car in the meantime, and I feel like the amount I was paid for it was fair.
It was good to deal with a company that worked quickly and fairly to make me feel whole again after that!
