I am a recent client of James rainwater and I hope if you’re reading this you don’t make the same mistake I did. James and his team are extremely unprofessional, they will not respond once they have your money. They files my taxes an entire year late and their only excuse was they were “busy”. They overcharge you basic tax planning and then when you ask to schedule a meeting will book you for 3 months out. They took my money didn’t provide any service as promised and almost had me in trouble with the IRS. All of the horror stories you see in these reviews are true. They will reply and lie to cover up their deceit and incompetence but won’t reply to the customers who have clearly been scammed by this overpriced, unethical and corrupt company. Save yourself the time, money, stress and most importantly save your business. Don’t work them rainwater CPA. To Ryan Tatroe , James rainwater and Jake the sales person who charged me double what they usually charge for the same service because you knew I had money you Charged me $2500 a month for quarterly tax planning.. which is usually $1k a month.. disgusting I pray you don’t get another victim.

We used this company for our 2019 and 2020 taxes after being highly recommended by a friend. Initially, there was a lot of talk about how they could save us money on taxes through tax preparation and when actually filing the taxes. However, we ended up owing more in taxes than normal, paying a higher preparation fee and they failed to even prepare our K1. They also have not responded to us about this. We ended up having to hire a new CPA to amend both the 2019 and 2020 returns and do the K1 preparation and receiving back $13,000 for each year. We have not received back any of the money we paid them and would caution against using them.

From the initial call I was blown away by the level of professionalism and industry specific knowledge he and his team carries. I think in the end my partner and I saved 40k that would have been going to the tax man.

I connected with Jake Chalawich of Rainwater CPA and after a short conversation I told him I was interested in discussing the structure of my various companies. He asked me to give them Admin access to my QuickBooks and share all financial records. I was uncomfortable doing that until I better understood if they could help me. Jake got very aggressive and told me if they could not have access to all of my systems they could not help me. I felt like he was attacking me and not someone that I would ever do business with. I found this company through a simple Facebook ad and am sure disappointed that I ever clicked that ad. I am glad I learned the type of company they are before investing any more of my time or money with them. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND.

Never got to talk to the CPA, James Rainwater. I found them throug instagram. They requested my past tax returns.
You have to provide so much info until you hear how much their service costs..

Their service starts at $12,000 and bookkeeping is not included. 10% discount if you pay upfront. You get to meet the CPA every quarter.
I found it expensive and did not sign up.
