Stay far, far away from anywhere that uses this company. We paid our bill in full over two years ago between insurance and out of pocket payments. They told us two years ago that the bill was paid and settled. Now two years later they're claiming we owe them money on paper but repeatedly say to me on the phone that we don't owe anything and they'll send me a corrected statement. They claim they'll call you back but never do. The doctor's office that uses them hasn't been able to help us sort out the fraudulent charge they're trying to get us to pay. Absolutely exhausting process that still isn't resolved and I wish I knew how terrible this billing company is before I established care with my doctor so I could've avoided this whole nightmare.

I've been using HPI's billing services for the past six years, and it's been an incredibly frustrating journey. The staff turnover at this company is beyond belief – I've had five different contact persons in just as many years. Just when I start to establish some familiarity, they switch things up yet again, leaving me to start from square one.

One of the major issues I've encountered is their decision to outsource their billing to a team in India. While they refer to it as a "team," it feels more like a disconnected and distant entity. Whenever I reach out to my assigned contact person for assistance, it's clear that they're often in the dark themselves. They frequently need to consult the offshore team for answers, leading to unnecessary delays in resolving even the simplest queries.

The time difference with their offshore team poses a significant obstacle to communication. My questions often linger unanswered for days due to the considerable delay in response. This kind of delay is hardly conducive to a smooth and efficient billing process, especially when timely information is crucial.

Another issue I've faced with HPI is their selective billing practices. They seem to prioritize the easy claims that can be processed without much effort, as those are the ones that directly impact their percentage-based revenue. However, when it comes to claims that face complications or rejections, the story is vastly different. These more challenging cases often languish in limbo for months, only to be denied for reasons like "timely filing," leaving me with unresolved claims and lost revenue.

It's also evident that the size of their client load affects the quality of service provided. With each contact person juggling more than fifteen accounts, there's a clear lack of personalized attention. My account doesn't feel like a priority to them, and this reflects in their inconsistent and inadequate support.

In conclusion, my experience with HPI's billing services has been nothing short of disappointing. The constant staff turnover, reliance on an offshore team with communication hurdles, selective billing practices, and the apparent lack of individualized attention have all contributed to a frustrating and inefficient billing process. I'm left feeling like my needs as a client are unimportant and secondary to their own convenience.

It has been a very long 15 months trying to get our primary care practice credentialed and to start actually billing with HealthPrime. I took it upon myself many times to ensure things were done appropriately, as we have found many mistakes with credentialing documentation completed by HealthPrime. I finally became so frustrated that I actually credentialed the office myself for one of the health insurances, which I completed in 3 months vs the year HealthPrime was taking. There was also a huge lack of communication between HealthPrime and our practice. When we did have a meeting with HealthPrime, we were given excuse after excuse as to why credentialing items had not been completed. Our primary care office has been billing for almost 5 months and we just gained access to view our billing data despite asking numerous times for this information. The billing staff is a constant revolving door and the moment you get to know your biller and develop a relationship, you are assigned someone else from either Costa Rice or India. We are in the process of looking at a new billing company and we would recommend Coronis or switching to Athena. We strongly urge any small start up medical office to avoid the same mistake we made.

We were originally recommended to HPI for handling the billing of our growing practice. We decided to have them credential us as well. The whole process has unfortunately been a disaster. The credentialing was put through to a foreign team who completed dropped the ball on the whole process. We are now a year in and not fully credentialed (even with major networks) due to complete lack of oversight and incompetence within HPI. We have continued to try to work with HPI throughout their inability to maintain consistent staffing. Correspondence has been poor. Multiple staff are obviously are related to higher ups or would have been fired long ago due to negligence. When asked simple concerns regarding Kareo, answers take over 2 weeks from HPI and are returned with attitude (that were incorrect when we actually spoke with Kareo). We are still unable to bill several insurances. Today we found out our biller, one of the few people that actually worked with us and answered appropriate questions, is no longer working there, without HPI notifying us. Overall, I am highly disappointed in this company and would not recommend using them in the future.

Stay away from any health provider that uses this company. First Urgent Care in Ohio. With insurance. I never received a bill so I called this company to inquire. I paid the bill credit card. 3 months later I received a collections notice. They sent my paid bill to a debt collector. Now 3 months later they still have not called off the debt collector. I have called four times and I always am assured it will be done. It has not. I now live Europe, so I have spent close to $100 trying to get them to correct their mistake. Incompetent and negligent! Go in for a health issue and end up with your credit being damaged.

Go up
