Needed a cashier’s check because I was out of checks, and out of town. This credit union has a partnership with Southern CA Credit Union. I got to Golden 1 a few minutes early. The doors opened promptly at 10. My teller’s name was Donna. She was very courteous and greeted me warmly. I didn’t have my account number, and she was very patient while I called my credit union to obtain the number, and placed a paper and pen in front of me, right when I needed it. After I requested my check(for deposit and rent) she determined I was new to the area, and extended a nice welcome. Thank you, Donna! The security guard was very nice too, smiling and holding the door for me on the way out.
Nice people, great location, and glad I had the chance to go here! I recommend!

Terrible customer service. ATM dispenses torn money. Branch manager refused to exchange smaller bills into larger denominations because I was a member of a different credit union. Getting torn bills replaced was a hassle even though they came directly out of the branches ATM machine.

This location does not understand how temporary checks work. Went in with a check from US bank and they told me they could not honor it as it is a duplicate check. Went to US Bank and they honored the check without issue. US Bank teller said that the aforementioned credit union was mistaken. This error on the part of Golden 1 Credit Union staff costed me an extra hour and a half out of my day.

Unwelcoming staff please don't ever go there they're very rude and dismissive I hate this location due to the staff that's it. Particularly the Ethiopian lady and the Filipino lady. I have enough people to leave a bad review on this location for a month straight but I will nt go that far. Teach your staff to be humble and not act like it's impossible to lose their job.

Not a recommended CU. They have closed many branches, including a central location at Polk & Golden Gate. Expect to be charged for using the 3rd St location, $5 for 1 or 2 minutes over an allocated 15 or 20 minute time, even when needing to park on the 7th floor of the UCSF garage. If there is a Warriors or other event, you can't even park anywhere to use the ATM. Also, Golden 1 ruined the once easy and quick Zelle app. Expect deduction and statement errors. Patelco might be a better option.

Rude staff. Not a good credit union. I had to drive to multiple different credit union locations and spend over 2 hours on the phone on hold and drive around for 3 hours, to find out why my card was blocked for fraudulent activity for a second time. Their card department made a mistake and really screwed up my time and job. They were rude and uncaring. Mariana will interrupt you and be condescending. Jed was nice and considerate. They told me to activate the card in one hour. 2 hours later it's on hold and they cannot activate the card.

I’ve been a customer at Golden 1 Credit Union for more than three years and have found the entire staff, including the folks at this location, to be completely professional, above board and wonderfully helpful.

Their new location on 3rd Street close to 16th Street in Mission Bay is a great location. Construction was terrible for while as workers built the new Warriors complex but that has cleared up a lot.

Miami Clark’s review was based on the construction which is over for most part. LW’s review stated they closed at 2 on Saturdays, then she said she hated Google Maps. The map overview of the CU shows they close at 2 on Saturday. Both reviews should come down.

In contrast to a third reviewer, I found the staff extremely helpful. They went above and beyond to help me solve a problem with my car payment, I needed to skip a payment and they came up with a workable solution. Great folks, friendly, knowledgable and willing to work with me.
