I am a current resident of The Reserve at Squirrel Run in New Iberia, LA. Initially, I was excited to live here three years ago, but I am praying that I purchase a home in the new year. To claim that this is a luxury apartment is an understatement. The amount of money that we are paying is too much not to have updated stainless-steel appliances, hardwood floors instead of carpet and trash and maintenance area fees that should already be included in the price. And it is even more ridiculous not to have 24 hours security that actually patrols. They have had more than 5 vehicles this year along that had their tires stolen. The cameras are only activated upon motion and located in only certain areas of the complex. What is the purpose of having a gated community if individuals can come in and out without notice and nothing is being done about it. But yet, our rent is constantly increasing with every renewal. And lets not forget the gym is too small for no more than two people to workout at the same time and the business area the computers do not work most of the time. The landscaping is horrible; the grass is extremely too high. They clip; not cut. So, please tell me again what makes these apartments considered luxury apartments and worth the amount of money we are paying. Something has to been done!

On August 29, 2021, we were gravely affected by Hurricane Ida so much so that we had to evacuate. The first email received by Fairfield on September 1, 2021 stated that residents were allowed to return to their units once the utilities were restored. On September 3, 2021 at 9:25pm going into Labor Day weekend stated that residents had until September 15, 2021 to vacate the premises due to a provision in the lease regarding "Acts of God". Now I must say that the complex has been somewhat lenient with allowing residents to remove their belongings but this is why I am giving this management team one star. They went into my apartment without my approval and removed all of my food out of my refrigerator before I could get in to take pictures for my insurance claim. They have claimed on several different occasions that they have completed assessments of each unit but to date they have not provide details regarding those assessments. We are now at the two month mark and we have yet to be provided with details regarding the start of construction and when construction will end. They have been very vague and non-responsive when it comes to providing the information requested for the individual units. It has been stated they are allowing the crews that are making repairs to live in the units that are unlivable for my family but okay enough for the crews to live in. It has been stated they are filing evictions on residents who have chose to stay in their apartment even though the lease has not been terminated. They are making their managers on the local level deal with resident questions but are not providing them with adequate information. I have emailed the Regional Manager multiple times. The last response I received from him was two weeks ago. Several follow up emails have been sent and there has been no response. On the local level the managers on the premises are amazing but above them has been a complete and utter nightmare. As a tenant (because my lease has not been terminated, only suspended due to the hurricane), there should be way more communication than there is. It is very difficult for me to recommend that anyone consider renting from this management team due to the way they have handled this unfortunate event. There is currently a housing crisis and they are dragging their feet with communication.

Manager Robin is not a good fit for this company she comes off as she for people then she shows her true colors she’s rude and takes advantage of people I know for a fact I supposed been approved for an apartment she called me and said she received my app she had my check stubs and she just needed a copy of my photo Id and bank statements but while I was in the bank I received a email saying they couldn’t verify my uploaded documents first thing first if it wasn’t the correct document it wouldn’t have never let me moved forward with my app she argued with me the entire time and while I was standing there trying to show her my information is correct she made other calls , she made a rush like she had a dr appt but never mentioned that when she called me about my id and bank statements , she said I was the first person the system ever did that too and she had to deny me I need the owner to reach out to me so I can show them the exact same thing I showed her all my paperwork matched my check stubs and my deposits to the bank which is the same account number on my paperwork she obviously don’t know the difference from last year and year to date she wanted to convince me that my year to date should have been more when it’s just January and my year date is what I’ve earned so far this year she went from it’s not showing my rate to it’s a issue with my year to date and if you look at my check stub it would show my rates under the word rate cause I get different pay rates for things like shift differential , overtime , holiday pay , and my regular pay rate , yall should look into her because she’s discriminating against people and I can prove I never been denied an apartment and make way over 3x the rent I want to speak with someone so I can send in all my information so I can prove I’m right in this situation

My husband and I own an automatic gate business, Dezert Gate Systems LLC, servicing the greater Metro Phoenix area. I have to say how much we enjoy working with the property managers at Fairfield. Ashley Moore is by far one of the most professional and personable property managers we have had the pleasure of working with. It is obvious that she has excellent work ethic and truly cares about her residents, vendors and board members.
