Upon retiring in 2015 and moving from the Bay Area to Folsom we decided to hire a financial manager because we realized the post-2008 market was different. We also planned on traveling a lot and didn’t want to think about our finances but acknowledged how much more important the growth of our portfolio is now that we’re retired.

We’ve had financial planners in the past but wanted to take it to the next level. We interviewed 3 companies. Tamara took her time with us, really got to know us; asked imperative questions and gave us several options, which changes as our portfolio and lifestyle evolves. It’s been 7 years and hiring CP is the best retirement decision we’ve made. There’s been a couple of stock market/economy challenges during this time frame and it’s reassuring to know that someone is looking out for our best interest and we can concentrate on enjoying family and retirement.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with James Pak and the whole team at Creative Planning for the past 3 1/2 years. First I would like to share that I got my degree in Finance and started off working in the Financial Services industry years ago. Unfortunately I have a neuromuscular condition that led to me getting on disability. Over the years we had worked with a couple of financial representatives - one was even family. In the end most of them did not do a good job to help us grow our assets nor have our interest at heart. So I started managing the accounts myself investing in low cost index funds with very minimal fees. Eventually I realized I needed a team to help us with the complexities of our financial situation as our portfolio value continued to grow. We interviewed a variety of financial advisors and were blown away by the comprehensive level of service Creative Planning can provide. Our financial advisor, James Pak, has been amazing to work with. He is excellent at communication and gets our questions answered no matter the complexity it may be.
