They did fine for us for the 2020 tax year for our personal and receiving our information for a trust.

It wasn’t until last year that we were very disappointed and were met with a lack of true professionalism and help from their CPAs.

For the 2021 tax year, they failed to let us know that we needed to make distributions to avoid incurring a hefty tax payment. All we needed to do was distribute some of the funds to the beneficiaries, which as a CPA with our information, should have told us to do. Because we weren’t aware of this, it cost the trust some $14,000.

Furthermore, they were late on responding to documents submitted. Granted, I will take responsibility for submitting our information in early March 2022 and not earlier in the year. However, I submitted it through their portal as they requested. I also sent questions via their client portal. I had to call twice to get a preparer to call us back.

By the time we came in person to sign and get the bad news on taxes owed on the trust, they were so swamped that they only had their front desk man to talk to us and be the fall guy to hear our complaints.

I made all my grievances known at this time in person meeting at their front desk to sign and pay our fees in full to their company — despite feeling like we were owed a discount for their $14,000 mess up. Still, we paid and handle our business firmly but calmly.

The man behind our desk apologized profusely and I watched as he took our information down to talk with us at a later time. Reason being, was because all managers/preparers were too busy to talk with us. He said we would get a call following the busy tax season so we could talk about our issues.

Here we are almost a year later and have never heard back from their office. Oh, but we did receive the yearly info incase we wanted to file with them again.

No thank you, Conkling and Foster. Clearly you have taken on too much clientele to address our issues. We will take our business where our money and time is valued.
