They discriminate families who are trying to rent. It took them about two weeks to process our application. At first we were told we will be giving double deposit since we have no credit. FINE. That was letting us know we got approved. That was a Friday. Monday we went to the office then was told we were denied due to the fact that we have no rental history. This is our first time renting , we’ve stayed with family and just paid them for a room. (Many people do this) Me and my partners name have never been on a lease. So we basically got denied for no reason. We were told to speak with a supervisor , saying she will look at our application again and she’ll call back. NEVER CALLED BACK , it took my partner to keep calling and leaving voicemail. Finally got in contact with her and she still had no answer. Took her a few more days to ask for the number of the person we were staying with saying she will verify , NEVER did. The day after she texted saying we were denied due to lack of proof of rental history. again, WE’VE never rented before. We are a young family finally trying to get our place, and their reason for denying us is “no proof of rental history”. Wasted our money on application fees plus wasting our time. To me this was discrimination, as being a young family and government assistance being one of our source of income. Not everybody is irresponsible with paying rent , or messing up the property. Some people are just trying to do right especially when having small children. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

Be very careful of doing business with this business. They are scamming individuals and charging $40 for an application fee (there are very specific laws on charging this fee) and they will hold onto your application, not show you the property, not run credit check nor background check, and claim that you were not qualified. DO NOT PAY the application fee unless they show you the property first, give you an itemized statement corroborating how much each report will cost them, must be a vacancy, and the MUST return any unused portion while providing you a copy of your reports. It is illegal to claim the fee is non-refundable, and they cannot place your name on a waiting list. They were advertising 119 Otis Unit #3 and never refunded all applicants that applied, then claimed the Unit rented while there were only 2 applicants in front on me, THEN Unit 7 opened up and they began to collect more fees from applicants instead of calling the pending applicants and ask if they wanted a refund or have their application applied to the next unit. They are making over $1000.00 per unit in applications fees. They are running a scam. Please ask for refunds and damages.

UPDATE * I GOT MY MONEY BACK. I FILED A FRAUD CHARGE WITH MY BANK AND THE MONEY WAS RETURNED. PLEASE CHECK THE LAWS AND DON'T ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TO LIE TO YOU.

I called Christine Schendel-Jean who was the listing agent for a property in Apple Valley. It was a little after 4:30 pm yesterday. She asked if she could call me back in five minutes and I said sure. She was not in the least bit friendly and actually seemed annoyed with my call. No surprise she never returned my call. I realize that Apple Valley may not be her normal area for selling homes and that she may have been assigned this particular home, but to completely ignore a customer and outright lie about calling them back in five minutes shows lack of integrity in addition to rudeness and thoughtlessness on her part. Her most recent reviews were from 2018 on her profile and now I know why. Christine if you are reading this please do not call me now that I know who you really are.
