We did not have a good experience with Bear Paw. The problems started when Darlene called stating our landlord wanted to leave us with 50 (yes FIVE ZERO) bags of pine needles from before we moved in, as the landlord was too cheap to have them taken to the dump. I told her that wasn't acceptable as brand new renters who are paying them $36k a year and she got irritated with me and hung up on me. It took us 3 months to get rid of them.

She later called to say the roofers "might be by sometime next week." I thought that meant they would be checking the roof out to see what needed to be done and scheduling the replacement, but we were shocked when they started installing a new roof at 6:30 AM. We both work from home so this pretty much ruined our day and made it so we couldn't be there at all. This was also the second time someone came by the house without notice, the first time I was alone and it was definitely unnerving. We called and said we need to know exactly when people will be coming by and what they will be there for, yet the roofers came by twice more throughout our lease unannounced. We ended up just getting the roofer's number so we could communicate with them directly, meaning we were handling administrative tasks that Bear Paw was being paid to do but was failing to do.

We had plumbing problems from when we very first moved in. They had someone come out at first but when I called after them and us snaking the drains 4-5 times with no results, she said I should put baking soda and vinegar down the drain and wasn't any help at all. We were never able to use the downstairs shower which was always backed up with food and dirt.

Upon moving out, we cleaned very thoroughly but weren't given our full deposit back. We were confused, as the house looked great. We submitted the pictures we took proving the house was clean. They simply said the owner didn't think it was clean enough but didn't provide any specific reason or proof to the contrary, and made it sound like they were trying to find more things to ding us on if we were to get the check reissued.

They treated us like lowly renters every chance they got, and really had a lack of compassion and generally being reasonable. Even if I found my dream rental, if it meant I had to work with this company again I would let it go.

EDIT: It was Kate who was rude, not Darlene. But while I'm here I'm going to go ahead and add how Eric said he "had" to charge us for our walkthrough day after we moved out just because my partner said since we were going to be there anyways he would double check to make sure we got everything. The owners were selling the house and it would be empty anyways, so not sure why he "had" to charge us.

This business is a breath of fresh air, I’ve worked with several property managements as well as rented from, however Bear Paw is incredible. I’m very blessed to have found them. Business wise and residential wise they are truly incredible. They have made it easy to work with them as a vendor and made it a great experience renting from them, I may never leave. I want to shout out Kate, Darlene, Eric, and Tera Y'all have been beyond attentive and phenomenal at what you do, I couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with!!! I also Can’t forget Stephanie for being so diligent, and helpful she is truly admirable it was my pleasure to work with her she’s a true gem! Thank y’all for going above and beyond!!!
