So far, my experience in the building has been very good, with excellent attention from the management and maintenance team. Additionally, I would like to highlight the Apartment Life team, who have been essential to my enjoyable stay at Beacon 85. They organize engaging activities that bring the community together both inside and outside the building. Breakfasts, celebrations of important days, various food trucks invited throughout the year, and excursions that bring together a significant number of neighbors have been an excellent addition. Naomi and Steve are amazing, always friendly and concerned about the community's well-being, very willing to help, which is very valuable to me when integrating into a new community. Highly recommended.

AVOID THIS HELLHOLE AT ALL COSTS

If you enjoy living in filth, dealing with unresponsive and incompetent management, and getting scammed out of money, then congratulations—this is the place for you. If not, run as fast as you can in the opposite direction.

From day one, this apartment has been a disaster. Let’s go down the list:
• MOLD. Yes, you read that right—disgusting, health-hazardous mold that management did nothing about.
• A leaking washing machine that destroyed the floors and furniture. Again, management shrugged it off.
• A broken bathtub that needed repairs, but, shocker, no urgency from maintenance.
• Promises that mean NOTHING. Management agreed to cover moving expenses due to their countless failures, but when the time came? They conveniently “forgot.”
• A stray cat roaming the hallways. Apparently, this is just normal here, because the so-called “courtesy officer” literally said, “That just happens.” and they could only address it if the cat was in “the mailroom” So, along with all the other problems, enjoy your new furry hallway roommate.

This place is a joke. They don’t care about their residents, their promises mean nothing, and they won’t fix a damn thing unless you hound them relentlessly. If you want stress, frustration, and endless maintenance nightmares, sign a lease. Otherwise, find somewhere that actually values its tenants—because this dump certainly doesn’t.

If you like hearing your neighbors cough/sneeze through the walls then you might like it here. Though, don’t be fooled by the way the complex looks, this place is a literal joke! I lived here a year, and I couldn’t wait to move out!! my car got robbed in the garage, amenities were never available for use, sky lounge always had some issues including the coffee machine never working… doors were never unlocking with the key fobs, doors that were supposed to be secure weren’t even locking and we’re able to just pull right open — the list literally continues. Do yourself a favor and Keep looking elsewhere… Otherwise you will likely regret moving into Beacon 85 just like we did. I would give zero star if it was an option.

As a resident, everyone considering touring here should read this. The dog run is undermanaged, with dog poop everywhere, they do not enforce people to clean up after their dogs. The pool is not heated as promised, and the "hot tub" is nothing more than a lukewarm bath. The Beacon used to recycle, but that has devolved to dumpsters being parked at the entrance/exit of the parking garage, spilling trash onto the street. The leasing office is next to impossible to get ahold of, if you work a regular 9:00-5:00 job, not from home, you will never hear from them. The transition of management from Quatera to Greystar has been abysmal, Don't move here, Go to The Braxton.

So far, everything about this property and its management has been far and above my expectations. Not only is it situated in a prime location to balance my need for both the city and the mountains, the floor plan option I chose was exactly what I was looking for, with tasteful finishes and perks to boot! To top it all off, the management has been what makes this place stand out. In particular, Lucas Roof has been absolutely ON POINT with answering questions about the property and the leasing process; he even brought me through a walk-through via FaceTime since I am a relo from Michigan and will be coming in sight-unseen! Cannot WAIT to move in and experience all that this place has to offer. Thanks to everyone here at Beacon85! You're making this move so much less stressful.

UPDATE 10/31/17:
Now that I'm moved in, I can truly say that management here has been nothing but helpful and sincere. Rachel and Lukas have been like gracious hosts welcoming me to the neighborhood and community that is Beacon85. Fast communication (which seems to be becoming more and more rare these days with managements!) is a highlight, as well as frequent updates on the property construction checkpoints are MUCH appreciated. They always have a smiling face and friendly hello when I get home from work and see them in the lobby.

Beacon85 is under new management as of August 2024, so old reviews might not be reflective of the current experience.

I lived here for 3 years and for most of that time I really enjoyed living at Beacon 85. The amenities are nice especially the gym and sky lounge, the location is very convenient (close to the major highways, restaurants, train station, and shopping), and the maintenance was responsive and efficient.

The last 6 months I lived there it went downhill quite a bit. Beacon got a new management company in August 2024. The old company was pretty good and did food truck Fridays and community events, and had a good maintenance crew. The new company (Greystar) took over and it was pretty disorganized. The first month we had to pay rent by check but didn’t receive any communication on the procedure (the 1st was on a Sunday) or what our balance was. They also failed to pro rate my rent for my last month. I wasn’t expecting to be changed full base rent when I was moving out on the 9th of the month. They said they could add the balance to my security deposit and I could receive that in as little as 3 days after move out. It ended up being 45 days later. Moving is stressful enough without an unexpected expense like that and nobody I talked to could speed up the process. Once they finally launched their resident portal it was barely functional. You’d submit a request and nothing would happen on the screen, leaving you wondering if it sent or not. Some links were deadends with no way back.

I also was dealing with a loud upstairs neighbor who would play music for hours at all times of day and night. They were given multiple notices and I tried to talk to them but it was all ignored.

A new apartment building went in next door which made the area a lot busier, less street parking, more people with dogs that they don’t pick up after, etc.

I found that a lot of inconsiderate people were moving in. Loud music being played, not picking up after pets, stains in the hallways, breaking amenity equipment (ripped chairs around the pool for example)

It can be a nice place to live. Maybe Greystar just got off to a rocky start when taking over. Although for as many properties as they own, you’d think they would have a better process in place. The office staff was always kind and helpful when I was able to get ahold of them.

They look nice. But they are not good to do business with. After almost 4 weeks of waiting on approval and being told their system was down, or they were changing systems and nothing happened but them taking my deposit. It has now been 3 months and I still have not got my refund of the deposit no matter how many phone calls or emails I have tried to contact them with. Ultimately my advise is do not do business with them.

Management here is really great. Paul is a great guy and so are the other staff members. They’ve all been pretty helpful when it comes to any issues that arise. The apartment building is nice and it has good amenities. However, it is located in a business park and surrounded completely by parking lots. Our view out the window was a Wendy’s (that we would hear people ordering through our 6th floor window). Beyond that was a Del Taco. So not the greatest scenery that’s for sure. When we first moved in about 15 months ago there were a lot of parking lot break ins (my motorcycle was vandalized twice) but that issue seems to have been solved since then. This place is definitely overpriced and to resign our lease the monthly price went up by over $700 per month… not really sure what that was about.

Overall not a bad experience but you could be living in a much better area for the same price or cheaper.
