Bait and switch car loan rate tactics. They advertised 4.99% on their website told me they could only offer 2% off my current car loan. When I asked them why the advertised rate was not available, they then said the website was wrong and they "updated" it. Then said the lowest they could go would be 3.74% but then backtracked and said it would still only be 2% better than my current loan. When I told them I was only interested in the rate they clearly advertised, they stopped responding. What kind of scam tactic is advertising one rate, but then saying they could only make an offer based on your current rate? (and with 800+ credit score, 2 year old car, not upside down in the loan and wanting to put and additional amount down....certainly not a sub-prime loan scenario)

I have been a member of this bank since before I was born LOL! My account was started by my grandmother when my mother was pregnant with me and I have had this same account ever since.

Overall I have had NO issues with this company. They have always come through when I needed. I also like that most info and forms you need are on their website and you don't have to call, and wait on hold forever just to ask for basic things like the routing number.

The ONLY FEW gripes I would have (which kept them from 5 stars) are:
1. They do not participate or aren't recognized with most of the digital banking apps. When you attempt to sign up for things to help with credit repair (Experian Boost) or even to send money (Zelle, Venmo) this bank isn't recognized.

2. Location - yes the opened a new location in Pikesville, but to do any major banking you still need to go to the main branch in Hunt Valley. They used to be a co-op bank with some of the other credit unions, but they stopped that years ago; probably because no one was going to their bank.

3. Card Designs - I also wish they had the option to pick a design for your credit / debit cards. The generic blue with the bank logo is so bland. The cards aren't "tap to pay" either so you still have to stick them in or swipe to purchase goods which to me makes you more susceptible to card skimming.

Forget about AFFCU if you want to get an auto loan. Tardy, inefficient and just useless.
No follow ups. No offers. Basically, no genuine attempt to get your application approved.
I have pretty strong numbers and easily get investments property loans in the range of $150K, but AFFCU denied my application for $37K for an auto loan. Really?
Not a single attempt to offer a loan, let’s say, with a higher interest and/or lower loan amount. Just No. Useless and a total waste of time! Look at other credit unions.

Stephanie is the loan department was great! She was so nice and helpful. She answered all my questions and got things done fast. I went into the branch to get my loan check for a vehicle I was purchasing and the bank tellers were also very sweet! They are a great place to bank!

When I joined my company, they offered the opportunity to join a credit union. I immediately chose Atlantic Financial Federal Credit Union for their customer service, great auto loan rates, and word of mouth. And they did not disappoint! I purchase a new car and I reached out to the credit union for assistance. They emailed me back immediately and helped guide me through the buying process. I just paid off my car, and I promptly received the payoff documentation in the mail.

I have been a member of AFFCU since 2005. I kept my account with them because the customer service is great and they have been there for me for all my financial needs. I have financed 2 cars, I have a credit card, started an account for my son, and have my direct deposit with them. Anytime I have needed them they have been there for me and I appreciate everything that they do to help their members. They make you feel like you are apart of the family!!!!

I have been a member of AFFCU for over 12 years. I wanted to get away from big banks that didn’t care about it’s members. My employer had AFFCU come out to a company event and when I met their team members they made me feel like family. I use them for all my banking needs, from credit cards to car loans. They have amazing rates and I will be a member for life. Thank you for making me feel like family and not just a number.

I've been with this credit union for a couple of years. When I call or go, the staff is always kind no matter how stupid what I need is. I only take one star away for two reasons: it's located in Northern Baltimore County, I live in Southwest Baltimore County and even when I lived in Northwest Baltimore County, it was still kind of inconvenient to travel to the branch. My other issue is that it doesn't work with Plaid when I have apps that want to connect to my account like for budgeting, it doesn't connect and I know local credit unions typically don't push the technology that big brand banks do and that makes it a little difficult in this digital era but what I need for the most part is complete and accurate with them: deposits and withdrawals.
