Melanie did a colorized portrait of our infant granddaughter in 2007 and it is a family treasure. My husband and I have since hired Anderson Photographs to do commercial photography for our small business including videos, still photos for our web site, and head shots of our staff. Everyone we have worked with on her team is top notch. Melanie is always eager to support community outreach events and any opportunity to make the world a better place. Her enthusiasm and generous spirit is contagious, and I always look forward to working with her.

If you are looking for a local photographer who offers professional images, for ALL your needs, whether it be graduation, beloved pets, commercial, engagement, wedding, or newborn, look no further than your own backyard!!  Melanie Anderson is a multiple, Award-Winning Photographer! She is incredibly generous with her time, and will not stop until EVERYONE is satisfied.  Her magical hands, have put countless numbers of newborns into natural, slumbering poses.  Her images are clear, lighting is perfect and she has an instinctual talent for knowing how to 'place' people, so they don't look awkward or fake.  Melanie makes sure that each client leaves with images of individuality, and not like going to a one image/one sheet company.  One of Melanie's gifts, is the ability to get others to produce an authentic smile.  Meet as clients - leave as friends!! Still unsure of hiring someone who was just elected for Professional Photographers of America for 2018-2021?!  Seriously?  Check them out!!!

The level of Melanie’s talent is limitless! She’s extremely creative and so full of unique ideas, it’s mind blowing!! Melanie is full of positive energy, and she and her staff make you feel so comfortable! Working with her was very easy and never once made me feel obligated to buy more, or spend more than I was able to afford, although I easily could have.... We discussed a budget ahead of time so there were no surprises; however, my order did take longer to come in...by a week, and because of last minute changes I’d made (and I was notified in advance about it). She has been our school’s sports photographer throughout my son’s 4 years of high school, and I’m happy to work with her with my daughter in the next 4 years!!! I couldn’t be happier with Anderson Photographs!!

When my daughter wanted to do her Senior Portraits she asked to go to Anderson. Mind you, that is a 2 hour drive for us! Melanie and her team are nothing less than amazing. This is the place to have all your memories created. Mel is a gifted, award winning photographer that truely is a story teller. I will cherish my daughters senior portraits for years to come! Can not say enough great things about Melanie and her staff. So positive, creative, talented, thoughtful, and much much more!!!! She truly takes the time to get to know her subjects and tells their story with the images she creates. I could not be more happy with our daughter's senior photos. A-MAZING work done by all Anderson staff!! I’ve worked with Melanie and her staff for several years now both professionally and personally. Her staff has created phenomenal sports banners for our high school but most recently my sons senior photos. I was blown away with her creations and have more images on the way!!! My sons friend tagged along the day he had his session and immediately went home to PA asking his mom if he could have his photos done here in MD. Not only does she and her staff create amazing pieces but the generosity of Melanie is unmatched with any other photographer let alone business. She goes above and beyond for her customers!!! I wish there were separate ratings for quality of work and general sales and business.
Anderson Photography does fabulous work, of that there is no doubt.
Like a previous review, I also felt railroaded at time of purchase.
How sad that you can see prices here on the site for some sports packages and yet senior portraits cost 5X that or more and with no advance warning.
I had a $500 gift certificate and still spent around $3000 for a very small number of pictures. I felt robbed and over a barrel. I am happy with the portraits, but having known Melanie for many years it saddened me to see that she is doing business in this manner. Packages and pricing need to be available before you make an appt for a session, proofs need to be available so you can think and show to relatives to determine want is being ordered and with prices so that in the convenience of your own home you can make that determination.
Sorry Melanie, wish I could have written a glowing and fabulous all around, but this single parent, like many others single or not, has a limited income. You remember how that was about 20 years ago... don't you?

The take amazingly beautiful pictures and it's a bit pricey but you pay for quality after all. My biggest problem with them is that since I am from New York they offered to ship my graduation photos and for which I paid shipping for also. It's been 5 months and I haven't received those pictures yet. All they did is email me the digital copies and I haven't a clue where the hard copies are. Every time I call they said it will go out soon. And whenever I don't get them on the phone and leave a message and call back number they never return my calls. I'm fed up already and want my photos asap.
