Update on this, Their comment below is just for show. When the incident happened last week, I asked Brandon to have Stacey or Andrea call me to discuss the situation and I never heard back from them.

Worse onboarding experience ever. If it's indicative of what can be expected during the actual tax filing process, bad sign... First, Andrea reviewed my tax docs, but never actually connected with me about them again. So I followed up regularly for over 2 months, till finally their admin Brandon confirmed they'd be take me on as a client. They are close to home, reasonably priced, so though this was not a great sign, I moved forward. Then though I was a new client, it was not made clear they have a March 1 deadline in order for you to avoid having to have an extension filed. When I found out via a phone call today about this deadline, Brandon was not sympathetic at all even though it came to light I had not received any of their group emails to clients December through February reminding clients of the March 1 deadline. He kept saying I should have known because it's in the client engagement letter. When I got upset by that, and yes I was upset and emotional but not yelling or being rude, he hung up on me. Yup, he hung up on me. Whatever they respond to this posting-- it is unacceptable to show no sympathy and HANG UP on a client instead of trying to figure out the issue. And mind you, if he'd handled my issue properly in the first place, I wouldn't have gotten upset.

What a pleasure to work with Andrea and her staff! My wife and I have recently looked around for a good tax preparer. We're not rich, but we've worked hard building our business over the years. However, our long-time friend and accountant passed away a couple of years ago. We tried a well-known local firm for a couple of years. They were charming people, but we never felt welcome. We have had our taxes done by AnderKobes, or those who work for the company for over 5 years. We have been well taken care of. As long as we get our "tax organizer" in to them on time, they get it to the IRS, in time. We had a problem concerning the "special Covid provisions" that caused the IRS to revisit our 2020 return, and even though it was several years back, Andrea and Stacey were wonderful in helping get everything all straightened out. We were very happy when it was resolved, and we came out ahead in the end. They didn't flinch and jumped in to help us with our problem. In addition, Brandon, who answers the phone, normally handles all inquiries and questions promptly. There is no "dropping the ball" with Brandon. The office works uniformly as a team. Employees seem happy they work there. We have recommended AnderKobes to others, and we are more than happy to make the drive to Castle Rock for them to do our taxes.

I am a CPA, but haven’t worked in Public Accounting for over 25 years, so I use a CPA firm to prepare my tax returns for all my entities.
