Do Not trust Amica!! I've been a customer for almost 20 years. I've been trying to unwind massive policy renewal price increases with no success until this week. Finally discovered (after 18 freaking months of phone discussions) they had begun to charge me for fault in an accident 5 months after accident occurred and was declared as other driver's fault!!
In addition, I discovered through a policy addendum dated 2023, that they charged me over $500 on my policies because I had "too many department store credit cards, account open too short of a time". What the actual F$%^!!! How can they deem me an "increased risk" for car and house insurance because I opened a Sephora card I'm livid and will never trust them again.
This is your warning to comb through your policy documents!! I'm leaving Amica for Travellers. I suggest you run from Amica!!!

Although Amica is based out of Rhode Island and probably a decent company - they have a Horrible Colorado franchise owner that has a single location to serve the entire state and they act as if they are above all. Disgusting customer service - frauds. I gave one star because there is no option for zero or minus.

Pretty terrible experience and first impressions are lasting impressions. My wife and I are first time home buyers (we were immensely excited to finally own our first home until this whole homeowners insurance process.....) We have majority of our policies through State Farm and they have been as close to no questions asked for years now, so when I called Amica I was expecting a similar situation. Not anywhere close.
Firstly, when I mentioned us being first time home buyers it was like this "oh....your one of those liabilities" from the agent on the phone, she didn't outright say it, but you could hear it in her tonal and demeanor change. So she begins her questioning and asks if security cameras will be on the home. I say not at the moment but we are absolutely going to be installing them. She starts asking me what type of cameras? Will they link just to me or to a company? To me my wife and my parents that live in town just 5 minutes down the road (but why does that even matter I think to myself?) I tell her that I am self employed and work from home, so I'll be there most of the time reducing the need for security cameras that link to a company ie. Brinks, ADT, SimpliSafe. (Because let's be honest, I worked with CSPD in the past, response times to emergency scenarios are if anything slower when one of these security companies calls 911) She INSTANTLY cuts me off and says Yeah..... That's a stiff automatic disqualification for our underwriting process so we won't be providing you any coverage. I'm sorry but wtf If I could give this company 0 out of 5 stars I absolutely would! That left such a poor taste in my mouth that I wouldn't recommend Amica to my neighbors dog....

Was with this company over 20 years and I should have switched years ago. The kicker was they told my home insurance was going up 50.00 increase. A couple months later contacted my mortgage company to find out the insurance went up 700.00. when I contacted Amica the agent told me who ever I spoke to was talking about my auto insurance and laughed. You call that good customer service? Your company is terrible and I feel I was taken advantage of. Learn from my mistakes and run from this company. I should have read there reviews

I'm giving Amica two stars because of the great customer service I have received in the past and present. I had noticed that my family was having problem with meeting our budget, and I realized that our costs for auto and home insurance had increased tremendously. I called and asked for things to be requoted and they offered a $900 discount. I decided to shop for quotes from other companies and I was able to save $6000 a year by going with another name brand insurer. Some insurers offered an even larger discount, but I went with an insurer I was more comfortable with.
So if you are considering Amica, be sure to get quotes from other brand name providers. If you are a current Amica customer, you need to ask for quotes from other providers. More than likely you are being over charged.

Have had Amica insurance for 16 years - for everything. I have made one claim, just found out they have made 1% of your assessed home value as your deductible for hail and wind in Colorado. This quadruples my deductible. The agent didn't care.Have had Amica insurance for 16 years - for everything. We don’t like to hear this, Greg, and would like the opportunity to discuss your experience with you. As such, we’ve passed your feedback along and will have a representative reach out. Thank you.
Still waiting for that call - most likely to confirm you don't care. What happened to your company? Amica use to be legit.

Adjusters consistently try and low ball you. Had hail claim about 10 years ago and recent water damage and adjuster low balled both times. Did not end up filing a claim for water damage but homeowners policy still went up about $450 and umbrella policy went up about $50 bucks. Been with the company since 2008. I talk to friends who go through the claims process with other companies and they talk about how well they were treated by their insurance companies. Amica charges a ton of money and when you need them you feel like you're traumatized over again. If you want to pay a ton in premiums and not have someone on your side when needed, go to Amica. Otherwise ask a friend for a referral on an insurance company that has your back. It's not Amica. Yes, I am shopping around to find a better company. Before you use them find someone who has had to file a claim and ask them how it went.

never again been a loyal customer for 10 years ,recently they decided to double our House & Auto insurance no reason given.
I figured they decided to punish us for a few claims in past 10 years
very rude & unprofessional insurance agency, be aware. wish I could give them less than one star.
