I bought a 4plex in Tempe, and I had OnQ Property mgmt for about 6 months. It quickly turned into a nightmare. They failed to uphold the terms of the lease agreements, they charged me for all damages that were the tenant’s responsibility per the lease agreement, and it was almost impossible to get in contact with anyone. I was in desperate need for another property manager.

Tiffany with Alter Property management quickly came to my rescue beginning of 2022 and turned things around. She made the transition as smooth as possible, and we were back on track. She is highly professional and knowledgeable, and always on top of all communication and service requests. She’s fair and does the right thing to take care of both the tenants AND the property owner, and I have full confidence that my property and tenants are in good hands. I highly recommend Alter Property management for all of your property management and leasing needs!

This company will lie to steal your deposit, they do Not respond directly without it being days or weeks to do so.
We have never seen a company dodge phone calls, texts and emails like alter does. We did our walk through was told everything was fine and we would receive our deposit check via mail, after days of nothing we reached out and reached out again, zero replies given. On the 15th day legally companies have 14 business days in AZ to give the deposit back, we called again and emailed again. Finally we get an email from Tiffany explaining they would be keeping our deposit, they gave a list zero pictures of damage they claim, and the damaged claimed were already accounted for on our first walk through, the owner would not fix these issues. So they want us to pay for her 18 year old sun rotted blinds & vents above doors that were already there when we moved in, they will do not help, they simply hid behind emails.
UPDATE
As stated below, after days of phone calls, text and emails we finally got a response, No call back in fact completely unwilling to answer the phone, They did communicate finally respond via email, gave one picture with false claims. But let's be clear this isn't the first failed communication on there part, when our washer went out, when we were current tenants, they took weeks to get us a new washer, with several calls, text and emails sent. I would not ever rent through them, especially if communication is important, They simply are not tactful, or responsive to tenant's, Full of EXCUSES,
Still have yet to receive pictures of paint or blinds. Again I'd rent with them with caution, The fact that they refuse to admit they lack communication, shows they don't care, we text and called many times prior to yesterday, but that is the leg they want to stand on.

Alter management is the best company that I have ever worked with or leased through. Tiffany is top tier. The responsiveness is exceptional. And honestly, the owner of the home I am leasing is very kind too. Great team! I was in my new home within 2 days! Awesome!

I’m not sure if other people were paid for their reviews but my experience with Alter Property Mngmt has been terrible. Tiffany does not respond to calls or emails, it takes months for them to complete maintenance request and I have been unable to receive mail at my home since I moved in, months ago as Tiffany nor anyone else from the company will assist me with getting a mailbox key replacement. It’s feels like once I signed the lease, resident satisfaction went out the window.

Update: I’m changing my original (1) star review to (3) stars. I can say my resident satisfaction has improved. I’ve had a couple maintenance requests that the team promptly responded to. The new assistant manager is also very responsive which helps alot. My only remaining complaint regarding maintenance requests is that I work during the week however, maintenance is only available during business hours throughout the week which means if/when I need anything repaired, I know I’ll also have to take time off from work or arrange for a guest to stay at my house so someone can be there to let maintenance in. Weekend appointment availability would be much more convenient! Additionally, I’ve lived in my unit for a year however, I never received a key to the community pool area.

Edit: I have scheduled a self guided apartment tour. They have sent the instructions in the text message. However, this was a gated community and they did not send me the code of the gate. I had to wait 35 minutes at the gate. I called the only phone number I was provided 4 times and the agent at the call center told me that the property manager is going to call me to fix this issue.

Yes, someone from Alter Property Management called me after I have waited 35 minutes but not to apologize for the inconvenience or resolving the issue. She called me because she saw my previous negative feedback about my long wait at the gate. Her tendency was not to resolve the issue but to try to convince me to remove my earlier negative feedback. She claimed that they emailed the gate code but I did not receive any email about gate code, it was not even in my spam folder.

To sum up, it was a terrible customer service, a lot of miscommunication between the call center and their office. I would not do any business with them.

Worked with Tiffany to setup a maintenance repair. Her response and timeliness was excellent. Shane and Tanna arrived on site to conduct repairs. They communicated at each step, and were careful to make things as easy as possible. Thank you Tiffany!!Thank you Shane and Tanna!!
