We have traveled throughout North America and around the world, and know our "Ultimate Alaskan Adventure" with Alaskan Tour Guides was among the best trips we’ve taken. We had visited numerous Alaskan ports on a cruise 20+ years ago and fished with tour guides in a fishing lodge in Klawock on a separate trip. They were awesome trips, but we always said we wanted to spend more time touring beautiful Alaska on land. Alaskan Tour Guides provided a once-in-a-lifetime expertly guided experience that delivered extraordinary memories. From the time we booked the trip a year in advance to the day we finished the tour last summer, Alaskan Tour Guides guided us through the process, providing regular and thorough explanation of everything we needed to know in planning for the trip, what to expect during the trip, the detailed itinerary for each day, and personalized attention throughout the tour. Our guide Cheryl Shaffer went over and above in every way during the trip. While our itinerary was highly detailed, Cheryl took advantage of every opportunity to highlight the smallest things that most would have missed if not for her command of the Alaskan geography, in-depth knowledge of local history, great restaurants, places to shop when we needed the smallest things, and making everyone feel very comfortable and going out of her way whenever possible, which was virtually every day. A wonderful example of how she cared for her clients, we toured Denali in a bus early in the tour and the battery charger for my new Canon SLR dropped out of my backpack in the bus. We sat in the front seats next to the door and I could’ve sworn it dropped out of the bus when people were loading and unloading. I discovered it was missing when we went back to the hotel and I went to charge my camera battery. I immediately contacted Cheryl to see if by chance someone had turned it in to the bus driver. Cheryl quickly inquired but was told the bus was used by several tours and no one had turned it in. I was resigned that it was lost but it was the only way I could charge the wonderful new camera I had purchased just before the trip. The next morning before we began our next event, Cheryl said she wanted to go back to the bus station to check one last time. At the same time I’d checked some local stores at our next stop to see if they had a charger to purchase; they fortunately did. We stopped at the bus station and Cheryl went in; when she came out she had a look on her face of disappointment while reaching out and dropping the charger in my hand. Yes, some good soul found it and turned it in. I was both shocked and extremely appreciative for Cheryl’s persistence and care enough to go that extra step. It was a perfect example of what Cheryl did for everyone throughout the tour. We took thousands of pictures, saw amazing scenery and wildlife, and overall had that once-in-a-lifetime experience. We highly recommend Alaskan Tour Guides if you want an amazing experience touring Alaska, and if you’re lucky enough Cheryl will be your guide.

Toured this month with ATG and highly recommend. The 8 day Spirit of Alaska is thoughtfully planned and packed with experiences. Our small group of 12 travelers was a great size for moving about and sharing questions and getting to know each other. We had a gem
of a guide, Dawn, who, as an Alaskan Native and teacher, was stellar at educating us about the history and culture. She had personal stories and knowledge that we all appreciated! Along with humor and compassion, she truly brought Alaska heritage to life! (Herded us well also).
My highlights were the dog sledding encounter, hiking in Denali, Seward and Kenai Fjords cruise seeing orcas, humpbacks, and glaciers! Grizzlies, moose, and wildlife along our driving in the interior, with the amazing mountain vistas all day every day!

Roy was our guide and treated us to a great week of phenomenal views and sightseeing. It was a personable and memorable experience that I get to keep for the rest of my life. Our fellow vacationers were also a lot of fun to have around and am glad to have met such great people along the way.

Alaska Tour Guides was one of the best experiences of my life. I had been to Alaska one other time by myself in 2016 and went without a tour. This time I was on the 8 day tour with Alaska Tour Guides and I had such a wonderful time. From the activities such as the wildlife ship day in Seward and the Alaskan coastline to ice hiking Matanuska Glacier to enjoying walking around Exit Glacier, to Denali National Park, to eating memorable meals with our group and seeing amazing scenery, this trip has been one of the best memories of my life. I will cherish it forever. Our tour guide Mike was very kind and very knowledgeable. I will miss him and the friends I made 🤗

Amazing, totally awesome.....beyond our expectation. Alaskan Tour Guides were available to us as we planned and during the Alaskan adventure. Our group was the perfect size making it memorable beyond words. We traveled in a comfortable van seeing the salmon, eagles, moose and so many beautiful scenes. Each day was filled with new adventures from rafting, to tasting birch syrup and visiting sites that shared the highlights of Alaskan life. Dowie was our guide and she went out of her way to support each of us. Runs to the post office, going to the local grocery store for snacks, planning special dinners together or just sitting around a campfire, she was a special blessing. She made sure we were at each stop in ample time and arranged pickup for us when the excursion was over. We highly recommend Alaskan Tour Guides......Five Stars Plus!!

My mom and I went on the 10 day tour in August with Cheryl as our guide. Best trip!!! So many wonderful memories from all the excursions! Can't think of one thing I would change. Really good food! Really nice accommodations! Comfortable van where we switched up the seating every day. Cheryl went out of her way to take care of us! So grateful for such an amazing time!

Just did the Northern Lights tour. Kenny was our driver. He was so courteous and helpful all the time. His driving on the snowy roads superior!! Never felt nervous!! He was so friendly and loved his accent. We were lucky to get him as our driver!!

We had such an incredible time with Chad as our guide. He took such good care of us. The beauty of Alaska is incredible and having such nice accommodations and excursions makes it even better. We will recommend this company to all.
