PART 1 Dear AG Living Regional Manager (Mateo Apartments)My name is Deshawn Johnson & I recently had the opportunity to apply for one of properties Mateo Apartments located in Arlington TX. I originally applied for the property on November 14,2024. In my application I stated that my living situation, which was me renting living quarters from someone and not a specific property or company. I sent over all requested documents on the 14th as well as credit payoff letter from past creditor. Although I have no evictions on my credit report pulled by Leasing desk/Real Page I still provided it for peace of mind. I was told by Ruby I believe is her name is on November 15th that everything had been entered and accepted, the only thing I was waiting for was approval from you, the regional manager and would receive it Monday. So I excitedly accepted the answer and waited. November 15th I received a copy of report regarding my application as did the property and then the 19th I received email welcoming me as a new resident to the property. I again completed all areas needed and was granted access to my resident portal, inferring my application has been approved, as well as the portal stating I had nothing more to complete and I was ready to move in apt 1502; the portal stated ā€œ100% Wow, Deshawn!
You completed your resident checklist!
As a courtesy we will let you know if any of these items need your attention in the futureā€ including lease.(Not to mention apt 1502 is nowhere near ready for anyone to move in. There are closet doors missing, underwear and clothing in unit. The unit had not been cleaned, painted, or inspected. Videos/photos will be be attached below) Tuesday I paid 535 for my deposit online through the resident portal. I went to the leasing office to get keys because m on the portal everything including required monies had been received by property. I was then told by Alicia that she was waiting to receive an email from my current renter which was confusing because I was under the impression those steps needed to be taken especially since I am now officially a resident of this community. But I accepted and ordered another uber back home since I was unable to get keys. The next day (today) Wednesday November 20th I no longer had access to my portal and was unable to reach the property all morning totaling 6 calls over 3 hours when calling from MY phone number. However when I called from a different number during those 3 hours I was able to get through to the leasing office which was a little concerning and unsettling. I then received an email at 12:47 stating ā€œwe regret that we are unable to approve your application at this time for the following reason Rental history unsatisfactory or insufficient Credit history unsatisfactory Applicant type / Scoring Range Conditionā€. I’m still in shock and unable to process this because I’ve already given my move out date as 11/21 and it can’t be extended. I went to the leasing office and spoke w the manager who stated I was now denied due to not having rental history. I contested that fact by informing her of my credit payoff letter from former property creditor as well as me stating on my application and to the leasing agents I was renting from a person not a property. She said that it’s not her fault and there’s nothing to be done. And was told I couldn’t pay extra deposit because I have rented before when prior she stated I had no rental history which was reason for now being basically thrown out after acceptance. She also stated that the property had just received my rental screening today which is untrue as I have email from screening company we both received prior to today. I was also told that she (the manager) was unaware of how I was able to pay my deposit online from the portal and I showed her on my phone. Now in my professional background in the past working in the leasing industry managers have to go in and promote applicants to residents and then provide access to the residents portal.

The owner of our complex 55plus has too many crazy charges that I have never paid in any complex, one is dumpster fee, rats running around everywhere just fired the best manager we ever had, raising rent on some people $500 a month, property is running down, so if you want to live here have some deep pockets. Rats, roaches running around, the doors inside the gate are open 24/7 so once you get in gate your home free, homeless people living on the parking lot and using our facilities we pay for, put in a stupid bocci ball court and putting green and we are paying for, people here are just lucky to stand up,much less play stupid games

If the corporate office does not reply. What makes you think the apartment complex will. This has been the worst company that took over Birth apt homes. Pools have never been closed until this year. Trash valet is no good they charge you for amenities that are not fixed laundry pool and parking. Please contact the city with issues and concerns at 211 for Dallas.

Do not move here . At first I had a okay experience with dayci. I have roaches at over this apartment, and these sorry people they have in the office. I’ve called over and over , they never answer the phone . And when u have work orders about major appliances GOOD LUCK . They wouldn’t fix my refrigerator for over two weeks and now when I come in the office and tell them about it and I don’t cuss or yell . I’m told I’m being obnoxious. When they don’t respond to emails , calls or anything but having to run to there office before they close. I used to referral people from other properties now I will share my experience with how they treat resident while flat out ignoring residents AND WORK ORDERS. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE keep replacing food and making me and my kid sick if we eat it. We waiting for weeks for this to be addresssed rather than just closed out for there numbers. If you don’t mind the roaches on your stuff this the perfect place . I’ve been asked multiple times to address the issue and I’ve have to buy my own stuff to do it since whatever / if they even spray my unit since they don’t ever leave notes letting you know they come. This staff has no one in office ohhh unless they’re renewal party…. To get you trapped in this place another year . IF I CAN GIVE ANY ADVICE RUN TO ANOTHER MANAGEMENT TEAM WHO ISNT GOING TO SEND YOU LESSE VIOLATIONS FOR COMING IN AND CALLING IT OBNOXIOUS BEHAVIOR when they seem to never pick up a phone nor respond to emails regarding emergencies. If this is how I’ll be treated no need I won’t be renewing at all . If my behavior was disruptive…. When yall don’t ever communicate AT ALLLLLL . Baby I will start telling folks how horrible this management team really is. They sat there and didn’t want other resident hearing how they FAILED TO DO THERE JOB which yall should be embarrassed but that’s not my fault yall can be in there fully staffed today ā€œ day of a renewal party ā€œ .. and STILL NOT ANSWER ONE PHONE CALL OR RESPOND TO ANY EMAILS .

I was disturbed to observe a significant amount of garbage piled up near the doors by the trash chutes, which are used by residents to access the building. This sight was concerning as it detracts from the overall appeal and cleanliness of the Cleo Luxury Apartment complex in Dallas, Texas. Google reviews show that this has been an ongoing issue for years, to no avail. The leasing agent did not show us the parking garage where the waste creates a bio hazard and infestation. I want a full refund of the money paid for application fee as this was a deceptive business practice.

They don’t care anything about the residents, only money. We still have trees leaning from a storm months ago, bushes that have died and never been replaced, rats running around with no bait traps, lights that have been burned out in the building for over a year, and I could go on and on….

Go up
