I was referred to Paul Lee at PSG CPA's for assistance in filing 5 years of past due tax returns plus an estate return for a deceased relative. Paul and his colleagues at PSG were fabulously helpful...a first class experience all around. Knowledgeable, quick to reply to questions and very client friendly. IRS refused one claim but Paul insisted we pursue it which we did successfully. A terrific experience overall.

As a CPA who is on disability, I was appalled at a scheduled meeting with the CPA preparing our taxes. He was wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants, knowing he had a client meeting. Walking into his office, there was a different client’s tax return on his screen. A HUGE ETHICAL and client PRIVACY VIOLATION. His desk was dirty with used staples and food crumbs. Red flags immediately arose. Questioned him as to why we didn’t have estimated taxes for the previous year. He said he put it in the letter to increase withholding on wages. Letter was behind the tax returns. No phone call, no highlight on the letter, no communication whatsoever. We never saw the letter and explained that we do NOT want to increase withholding. We prefer estimated tax payments. Then he said to withhold on my disability income and quickly said what a hassle that would be. Kept trying to justify no estimates even after saying we prefer estimates. Asked what we paid for the prior year tax prep (prep went from $525 to $600, no changes in our forms) and he said he would have to check with admin. Knowing the professional tax software they were using, I explained that he could look at the cost on the prior year return! Reminded him I am familiar with Lacerte and am not stupid. He looked it up. At that point we gathered our source documents and left. Do not use this firm! Highly unprofessional and are obviously used to answering client questions knowing the client doesn’t know how the industry should be operated or that client preferences are first priority above the tax preparer’s preference.
