We really did not get any value from this company's services. Larry showed up to our first meeting assuming that my wife and I were going to quit our jobs to become real estate professionals, which we had already communicated was not our plan because we needed our W2 income, and that's a huge assumption to begin with.

Once I explained this again in person during our first meeting, he came up with another half baked plan on the spot that still didn't meet our needs because we didn't currently own a revenue producing business that was considered "active" from a tax standpoint and didn't feel comfortable deducting losses that were effectively for a hobby without some kind of proof of revenue.

At the end of the day, we spent $3k on a plan that did nothing for us. We also asked several questions during the sessions about how to document expenses and what services were offered to help us do it correctly, and nothing was included, so for a couple hours on the phone and a "plan" that took about half a second to cook up on the spot, we really didn't feel this charge was justified, and the professionalism in terms of being on time and prepared for meetings was also very poor. We would not work with this company again.

I and my clients were very impressed on Larry explaining deductions to reduce or eliminate taxes that other CPA's I have worked with did not know or did not explain. If I could give 0 stars I would. Larry cancelled our first appointment and rescheduled for 2/19. When my husband and I arrived for our 4pm appointment the door was locked. Larry open the door wearing shorts and no shoes. He claimed he forgot about our appointment. He was short and rude. Needless to say, we will be seeking services elsewhere.

His staff is up to date on taxes and has saved me a lot of IRS problems over the years. You get what you pay for. Stone CPA is not for you if you want someone to ask did anything change from last year and punch in a number.
