It gives me no pleasure to write this review. My first introduction to Blackston was spring of 2022. We were looking for professional help to advise where to place our retirement savings to provide a safe and reasonable rate of return on our investment. We were advised to invest in Fixed Index annuities with expected annual returns of 4.5 to 5.0 percent. Having no experienced with this type of investment we followed Blackston's advise and agreed to invest approximately 1/2 of our liquid assets into 4 separate 7 year fixed index annuities. We were quite content with this advise until the anniversary of our first year when we learned the annuities did not make a single distribution because the returns were tied to the S&P 500 and did not achieve sufficient returns to pay a distribution to the policyholder(s). Admittedly our mistake was to rely on the advise of Blackston and not thoroughly review each contract that was confusing, complicated and impossible to understand by a non professional. As it turned out our chance of making a return on these contracts are slightly better than winning a jackpot at a casino. We estimate we have lost at least 15% of our estate in one year considering both the loss of a distribution and inflation and, the likelihood of any distribution in the future is dismal as well. As a result we have decided to cancel the contracts, pay an expensive early surrender fee and get back control of our money. The Blackston family are very nice and decent people but, in our case were very poor advisors. For this reason we cannot give more than one star for this firm.

Great people and very nice. Was quoted a rate for fees. When paperwork was to be signed, very different fees were in the contract and then was told a varying story about fees associated with annuities. Very misleading. Watch the fine print and totally understand what your signing including fees being paid and/or collected.
