I want to start off by saying I'm so sorry that I needed to do this review as worked with Mark's sister and I know his brother. Both of which were/are friends of mine. Because of working with his sister who was so wonderful with taxes and customer service when she was no longer available to do taxes anymore, I thought Mark was the next best thing. Now keep in mind I live in Show Low and Mark is in Tucson, but I chose Mark because of his sister and my strong ties to his family. This is why I deeply regret I must write this review! However, I must warn others of the terrible experience I had with MJM and to stay away for them.

When I called, I was told I needed to make an appointment with Linda (who did my taxes last year). When the appointment came up, I had to call her to start the appointment. Then she didn't know what the appointment was for. I had to explain to her why the appointment was made. Then she proceeds to tell me I must upload everything in their portal, which was already done as I was instructed to do this by the receptionist before the appointment. She acted surprised then told me she didn't have time to look at the portal yet. What's the point of an appointment if you are not going to be prepared? She quickly looked at the portal then said all was good. I asked her about the price, and she said she became very elusive saying she didn't know. I explain that I was looking to stay somewhere in the vicinity that I was last year which was 380. She said she couldn't promise that. I told her I understood as my taxes were a bit more complicated and I added a spouse but asked if we can keep it around 400. She said she would try. In the end they wanted to charge me 500 to do fairly simple taxes!!!! 120 more dollars to add a spouse and solar to my taxes.

A week in a half later I get an email asking for information. I quickly reply with the information requested then realized all the information was already uploaded to the portal. This tells me she did not look at my tax documents. This is not a good sign for a tax professional.

I wait two days then send an email asking if she received my information and if I can get an update. No reply. The weekend and two more days I call, and Linda was out to lunch. She then calls me at the end of the day to tell me what I'm getting back in taxes. This is a huge problem as I quickly point out several mistakes. She then proceeds to point out several mistake that she made but blamed in on the software and needed to get back with me. Several days later I again have to call for an update. She again has several mistakes. When I ask for an explanation, she is unable to give one to me and AGAIN has to get back with me.

I ask her to call me the next day and she agreed. Guess what she did not call. So, this time I call the office to contact Mark himself as I definitely wanted him to know about my experience. After waiting on hold for several minutes Linda gets on the phone with me and tries to tell me about my taxes. I interrupted her and asked to speak with Mark. She flat out said "That isn't happing" and began to tell me about my taxes. I then told her I do not want her to work on my taxes anymore and that she was terrible with customer service as she was supposed to call me yesterday. She then said message loud and clear and hung up on me. Not how she can make it right but just hung up!!!

There is more to the story, but this review is already too long. Bottom line stay away!!!!!

I was treated well. Marie was very knowledgeable . She completed the work on my taxes and contacted me within a day or two of my appointment that I could stop by and pick up my tax paperwork. I was impressed with her efficiency.
