The Hospital in Bisbee AZ is a very clean and tidy facility and staff does a great job of caring for the place. The experienced doctors and staff offer excellent care when they are around ( not always the case). The Nurses are varied as the training allows and the CNA’s end up scrambling at times but overall give it there best. For short term care I give it 4 stars , the long term care is another story. I don’t believe they have adequate trained staff to know how to navigate the changing needs of patients. It seem to me that there is a lack of communication between shifts. When my Mom was there for seventeen days I noted the Patient communication board in her room was never used (I assume because everything is on electronic pad now) but that leaves the patients information up for grabs when PT , RT, training staff or family comes in. ( & what happens if the power goes out)? The Dr’s are not often available to provide patient information,so much is lost in transition. Also on Weekends the only patient access is monitored through the ER and depending on staff can be rather frustrating. Even after daily visits overnight stays and multiple entry’s during any one day we were often treated like unwanted guests. They imposed a kind of power trip and showed no compassion or understanding to us during this critiical time.
That said, access for care in this community is indeed necessary & I am very grateful & thankful to know it is there for emergencies like we experienced. I just think that the inter communication between Dr’s Staff and Patients & Families could definitely be improved. * willing to expand on that if you contact me.
A note:: Access to in house patients should not be thru ER. For one thing it could expose already sick or injured patients to what ever may be carried from the ER area. Or the overburdening of your ER admissions staff is creating hidden animosity and resentment for the added duty of patient guests visits. Why is there no patient guest service during weekend visiting hours?

Shout out to Melissa at patient registration for helpfulness and positive disposition. Ladies in radiology were great, and again, very positive attitude. IF I ever go to a hospital, Copper Queen is 10000x better than Canyon Vista. Thanks for helping me out ladies.

The emergency department at this hospital is slower than molasses in January. I have been here twice and never was seen. This last time I waited over 2 and 1/2 hours. I saw the nurse and then nothing!!! No communication, no nothing. All I needed were antibiotics for a painful tooth abscess. I went online while waiting and found a place that will send me the antibiotics. I left the ER and am picking up the meds. 20 minute wait time instead of over 2hours plus. Next time I will drive to another city……

The absolute WORSE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT ever. Nurses were not hygienic or even washed their hands. They never gave me the call light device knowing I was having trouble breathing. Left alone for long time. Respiratory Therapist was unprofessional and condescending refused to explain her treatments given to me. Radiology Tech arrived for a portable chest X-ray for pneumonia and shortness of breath and barked orders to me was very rude and physically rough with me, even though he knew I had recent fractured vertebrae and ribs. He was as brutal and rude as my drill instructor at Marine, Boot Camp, and if I could have, I would’ve educated him. A bully for certain.
Now we get to my physician, very condescending and typical of doctors who think they are God. The next time I need emergency care, I will drive the extra half hour to get to a real and professional facility because this one is lacking in every department that I have had the pleasure of being associated with.

My wife and I went there and the service was excellent. Following three days , the symptoms that my wife had is still the same. I called to talk to the head nurse on the fifth of january At twelve forty five And this gentleman would not Give me his name, He got very upset because I asked for his name, He was very rude, Very pushy, Unprofessional, You would think somebody in that position would have great communication skills with customers that are paying his wages. I'm still waiting for a phone call.Come Monday if they don't call me, I'm calling back.

8am to 4pm sounds like bankers hours, scheduling specialists and procedures on the same day is obviously some unavailable here.
A person would think waiting 2 weeks to see a pulmonary specialists that a PFT would have also been scheduled. But not here, see the specialists then schedule the PFT. What a total waste of a persons time and gasoline.
Urgency appears to lack throughout the Copper Queen system.

Six month ago I had an initial Medicare appointment with a doctor at Palominas clinic. The dr office issued a prescription for standard blood tests which I did at Sonoraquest. Because the visit and the tests were filed incorrectly Medicare declined to pay for some tests. I called dr’s office multiple times trying to persuade them to correct without success. I also established a contact with Kara (or Cara) in the billing dept at the CQCH but after initial communication she does not respond to multiple calls either recorded on her answering machine or when the request is passed through her associates at CQCH. This is utter disregard of patient’s care and lack of professional responsibility.

PS. After posting and contacting BBB the issue is being resolved. Will remove negative rating when completed.

PS. Never called back, never resolved so far.

We arrived at emergency about 6:00 p.m., with only a few other patients before us. Within moments a nurse had a wheelchair at the curb to help us with Dad. The staff had him in a room and started care immediately.

Nurses, phleb, x-ray and the attending doctor were kind, professional, and their bedside manner actually had Dad laughing!
Every test and examination was explained beforehand and conducted with compassion.
