WORTH. READING.

Yesterday my Dad and I went in for some help because there were hundreds of dollars of fraud on my account. I went to speak with a worker (tall bald man) and he handed me these papers and said that I was the one that made these purchases when I did NOT. He basically just blamed me the whole time questioning if I bought this item over and over as I said no.

After talking a little bit more, he seemed to get irritated looks at me and says “you didn’t think to call the bank when you got these transactions?” all sarcastically and laughed at me.
I called the bank as soon as I noticed that these charges happened so I’m not sure where he got this information. This has been a month long process of trying to get a couple hundred dollars back and they deny me every time. I now had to make a police report because nobody at the bank is helping me and I’m not sure what else to do.
The guy I worked with is so unprofessional and rude and talked to me like I was a 12-year-old who stole money from her parents card. I don’t know if it’s because I went in with my father that he didn’t take me serious, but I’ve never felt so disrespected by somebody. Going to the bank for help and then being blamed for apparently not calling the bank immediately when I DID was insane. Even if I didn’t call the bank right away, I don’t understand why this would be a problem and why I would be getting blamed. I did everything I was supposed to do. I contacted the bank. I got contacted by the fraud department. I disputed it with the bank. I talked to the store where the person bought stuff with my card. Absolutely do not bank here. if they give you a conditional credit for fraud, they will most likely take it away if somebody purchased something JUST using your first and last name.
INSANE PART.
They gave me a paper that had an IP address saying that the person that bought stuff with my card purchased it in Ohio, and that was close enough to my home address for it to be me. I live in Westland and the purchase was picked up in Dearborn. I don’t know how it’s even possible that I could get from Ohio in to Dearborn in less than 20 minutes. I don’t understand why I’m being blamed. I don’t understand why they randomly took my conditional credit out without contacting me first causing me to get a withdraw fee out of my account. The whole thing is unprofessional and they talk to you like you’re stupid and that you’re trying to scam them out of a couple hundred dollars. I am 100% switching banks. I will never go back just because of this experience.

and whoever the bald man was that I talked to that has an office lego set in his office you are literally the most unprofessional rude person I’ve ever spoken to. You talked to me like I was a 12-year-old girl that didn’t know what she was doing with her new Bank card. He changed his voice when he was talking to my dad vs me and spoke to me like I was a child. I don’t even know why he asked me more than three times if I accidentally bought an iPad like, how does somebody accidentally spend hundreds of dollars on something on accident and then somehow forgets about the purchase and THEN spends a month and a half trying to get the money back.
