Bruce (Carter) was nice and very helpful while providing me information (free of charge) over the phone. I dropped my taxes off to him and got a call the very next day to come pick them up. Now that's good all-around service! I highly recommend his tax firm.

I’m a disappointed new customer. My preparer was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. They have reasonable fees; however, I just filed my city taxes, and mistakes on that alone have given me pause:

1. The form provided to me for city taxes was for the incorrect city.
2. I was told I owed $116 to the incorrect city - which she highlighted with yellow marker - but the amount on that line was how much I paid. The amount owed line was actually $0.
3. I was then provided forms for the correct city, which were revised today by the city tax office, where a net loss of $1,379 was eliminated. So I went from being told I owe $116 to $611, then another $31 on top of that.

It’s not the end of the world, but I now feel the need to scrutinize my state and federal taxes.

Edited to add: The city tax summary provided by the preparer is correct. Unfortunately, in the office, she printed the wrong city filing and verbally provided the incorrect number and form

Never had a problem with this company until last year. I requested that my child not being filed, and they did so any way. I had to have my taxes amended after, and have yet to receive that refund. Now I'm considering going else where. Unhappy customer and unacceptable mistake. This is causing me so many problems!

I've used them for the past couple years. They normally do a pretty good job. A tad better than turbotax. This year was the exception. Extremely poor response to questions, delay after delay. It's been a week since we did my taxes and they aren't ready for a signature yet. I've very disappointed.

I typically do my own taxes but this year I had them prepared for me. They definitely did an excellent job. My only complaint was a case of sticker shock when it was time to settle up.

This was my first time having my taxes done at Ladd & Carter Tax Service...I met with Bruce, he answered all of my questions, was very efficient, & kind. It was a great experience, I will be returning. I highly recommend this company.
