This office made the 2024 tax season a nightmare for me and my family. I was referred to this office from a financial planner who knew Todd personally. I had a meeting with him early March 2024, handed him the necessary documents, and sent a confirmatory email the same day with the remaining necessary documents. During the meeting, Todd recommended I make advance payments to the IRS and RITA which I filed immediately and at the amounts he recommended. Todd also told me he would be filing my taxes late but that is "normal" and he will file an extension to ensure no penalties.

Almost two months passed with no word from the office. I was concerned, sent an email, and received a notice from the office requesting that I have a phone meeting with Todd a few days later, because "there seems to be a misunderstanding regarding your expectations of us." I became quite anxious at this point and then, during the phone call, Todd said "I forgot about your taxes. I seem to recall us meeting earlier but I haven't started your return." I appreciated the honesty, but it only got worse from there.

Todd asked me to send him all my documents again. I said I had given them to him and Todd disagreed, saying I didn't give him the necessary documents. I started combing through my emails, requesting duplicate copies of my W2's and the like, when I got an email and voicemail in mid-May saying that he found my forms at the back of one of his filing cabinets. "It was in a folder it wasn't supposed to be," he said.

Todd filed the taxes as agreed, although late, and then the problems continued.

Turns out, I overpaid RITA because he didn't realize federal wages don't get taxed by my municipality. This kicked off a multi-month battle between me and RITA so I could get my money back, which I eventually did.

Also, I underpaid the IRS because I followed Todd's recommendation, and the IRS levied a late penalty fee since we were filing in May.

But this is the worst part: Todd expected me to pay the late fee that his office caused by losing my documents. Not only that, he pointed out I needed to file a return with RITA for the previous year and "offered" to take care of it for me for $150, saying it would take "a couple weeks" to do. When Todd sent his summary email including the late fees, I called him and he was very snippy, implying I had misheard him regarding the initial advance payment amount. Mind you, he also told me he barely remembered us even having a meeting in the first place. Ultimately, he reluctantly agreed to cover the late fee to the IRS...or so I thought.

Late September, I receive a statement requesting payment in full of his fees which he had previously agreed to waive in order to cover the IRS late fee. It took yet another reminder from me for his office to finally waive the fee.

I have never experienced such a messy tax season, and it was all due to the persistent failure of this office to perform the basic tasks that I paid them to do. I filed the 2022 RITA return myself and it took all of thirty minutes, something he was willing to charge me $150 to do after he already bungled my entire tax return. I filed my returns on my own this year, and I honestly was worried about retaliation from this office for this review which is why I waited until now to post it. I cannot recommend this agency for tax purposes.
