Every great city has a place where you can go to escape the city. This area, just a couple miles from the hustle and bustle of downtown will make you feel like you're in a national park if not the moon off Endor. Lush wooded areas hug Barton Creek, which is great when it's full of water but perhaps even better when it's dry. You can access this area from the trail going into Zilker or by a trailhead on Homedale Rd. Bikes, hikes, dogs, and kids welcome. Look out for the little baby turtles before you step!
