Wow is the first thing that comes to mind!! Assistant Branch Manager Angelica Elias was amazing , she listened to everything we ask and told her what we were able to afford and want to do to purchase a new/used truck! She worked with us and told us step by step what we needed to do and what she was doing we received the loan and she even helped me set up my TOPCU app on my phone since I’m not great with technology! Her personality was warm and welcoming and we had a lot of laughs which was unexpected since applying for a loan isn’t usually pleasurable, but Angelica made it a wonderful experience !! My best friends been a member for over 60 years and now I’m a member !! God bless Angelica

I’m deeply frustrated, inconvenienced and upset at the way TOPCU goes about handling the process of paying off a car loan. I called them to make a final payment towards my car loan. The bank teller Jaime was very helpful and this review is in no way a complaint towards him.

He supplied me with my loan payoff amount but then told me that I could only make payments of up to $2500 which was surprising. He told me that I would need to come into one of the branches and take care of the payment in person. I live more than an hour away from the nearest branch. He then said he would check and came back to let me know that with manager approval he could process a one time payment to get it done. Put me on hold, and came back to let me know that he couldn’t do that either. I could send in a check, or do a wire transfer.

All of this I find incredibly inconvenient and unnecessary especially in 2024. I understand that it’s a credit union and a smaller bank but it’s just not acceptable nowadays. If you live away from Tucson, in my case, or out of state, it’s clear that TOPCU is not a good bank to have a car loan with. If your trying to pay off a car loan, they don’t have the basic infrastructure to take a large one time payment and they make you go to a branch or through unnecessary processes like sending in checks or wire transfer. I never had an issue with making my payments through the website, and I thought to keep my savings account with TOPCU after I paid off my auto loan but with this, I won’t be considering them for any of my future banking needs.

I bank at the 22nd street TOPCU and I enjoy the friendly and personal care and attention regarding both our business and personal accounts.. I also appreciate the savings certificates to earn extra interest. The branch manager is excellent, along with her bank tellers, the Member Service Reps, and the Commercial loan manager. Thank you all! Truly a team effort!

I received excellent customer service from Maria over the phone today. I had 2 issues that she helped me with. She was very patient and nice. I needed help understanding how to use certain parts on their app. Total phone conversation was 7 minutes and issues were resolved. Thank you Maria! Elizabeth Stallings

Karina was the epitome of grace and patience. I came in a bit frazzled, trying to get information on an out of town CU account with another CU entirely, and she was able to get information for me that might have taken a long time on the phone. Plus I was able to make a withdrawal from my NUSENDA account with no fees and no hassle.
Really great experience, I’m glad I stopped in and super grateful for the cross CU member sharing services.

I don't know exactly happened to TOP but at one point years ago they were the best Credit Union in town. I think they changed management but their service as gone down hill. I have been with them over 20 yrs and never had the kind of service they give now. They use to care about their customers. All I know as soon as my car is paid I will longer bank with them. Honestly, I think their ttheir in some kind t of rtrouble and and the customers are paying for it . Worst customer service ever! And they zero compassion for anyone.

The worst customer service!!! I’ve had a savings account here for years and ran into a crisis that pushed me to refinance my auto loan. The loan officer, Vanessa, ignored pretty much every phone call and ignored every request to speak about the loan in person. All I got was one email a day for almost two weeks with nothing but questions. Communication was so terrible and never once did she explain the process, never provided an update on what was happening with the loan, and again ignored every question I had. I had to call the main number multiple times to find out what was going on, because the receptionist was about the only helpful employee here! When my loan was finally approved, I thought I could finally get an appointment to finish the paperwork, instead she informed me that she would be out of the office and would schedule an appointment when she returned the next day, instead of setting one up right then and there. Then when I let her know I was going to be visiting the office to finish everything up because I had limited availability because of work and couldn’t keep waiting on her, Vanessa let me know that there was still some things pending before I could sign. When I explained the urgent situation, she just said “I didn’t know that” to which I responded, “yes, because I couldn’t get you to answer your phone or meet with you in person!!” She said she would call me back. She didn’t. I finally called to check in, she said my loan couldn’t be approved AFTER I got the approval notice. All because “her team” didn’t do their research. They also ignored every request for me to speak with them. I asked to speak to a manager to which she said she would have them call me back, and shockingly they never called back. Needless to say I am closing my account here and never recommending this credit union to anyone. I’d rather bank with one of the big ones because most of the staff here lack the most basic customer service skills.
