He is absolutely amazing and has helped me out tremendously over the years. I know if I reach out via phone or email, that I’ll get a fast response. I've had a renters insurance policy with Scott Garvey's State Farm branch for over a decade and just added an auto policy (for about half what I was paying with Liberty). Highly recommend working with their agent Eric Dechtiaruk; he is a pleasure to talk with, makes everything clear and understandable, and won't try to pressure you into purchasing more than you need.

After extensive research, State Farm came out on top for both home & auto insurance. And the deal was sealed after just 10 minutes with agent Phil Brown...very professional (a rarity these days) with great communication and follow up. Glad I switched and it was super easy to do.

Whoever gives State Farm- and Scott Garvey's agency in particular- their business, beware:

1) State Farm is an "agent- based company" (their national CS representative's words, not mine). Hence, their phone and online platforms are programmed to strongly steer customers to automated systems and local agents. Which, if you have a specific issue (for example, with your payment method being declined) that can't be handled by automated systems, is quite frustrating. This is especially true if you're calling outside of their agency's Banker's hours (M-Th, 9-5, Friday: Good luck, depending on the season). I tried 3-4 times to call Mr. Garvey's office today- at 1:30pm on a normal Tuesday- and got voicemail no matter which button I pressed.

2) I originally switched to State Farm from Geico a few years ago because they offered me a much better quote for auto and renters insurance. However, the staff member I interacted with failed to tell me that this lower quote was dependent on utilizing their telematics platform, "Drive Safe & Save," which doesn't save money for everyone and isn't for customers who (for no illegitimate reasons) don't want their auto insurance company tracking their every move in their personal vehicles. That omission was really important and very unprofessional.

This is my last straw with Scott Garvey's agency and State Farm, in general.
